He's asking about exp per kill, not max damage done. Why is everyone refering to the damage? By the time the guy's dead you are going to have done roughly the same amount of damage ,no?

Actually, with unarmed your likely to have done 1.5 to 2 times the damage because unarmed damagehits the HAM pools randomly. Every other weapon tends to hit a single pool most of the time with all their specials focused on one HAMpool.

As for Xp per kill, I believe Xp is tied to whatever tier your at with which particular skill your using. Unfortunetly the tiers are the same for all combat trees. So if you kill a Mob which is on the low end of white con you get less Xp at any given level. Now consider that since unarmed has no weapons every Mob cons at the base level while with a weapon a Mob might con differently depending on which weapon you've equipped. so an unarmed white con might be a dark blue or even light blue con for anothercombat skill depending on which weapon was equipped. Also some yellow cons for unarmed are high endwhite cons for ranged user depending on their weapon. What all this comes down to is that you are killing "easy" white cons so you earn less Xp. Concerning getting less Xp in a group, since your share of theoverall damage is lower you get less Xp.

Unarmed needs to be looked at more closely by the devs and changes made so that it is a viable standalone skill not merely the route to something else.

I was killing Bolles with 4 buddies last night working on my carbine skill. For each Bolle we killed I was getting around 1k carbine xp. After I maxed out my carbine I switched to unarmed combat so I could get that skill up (I need it for Commando) but I was only getting 200-300 unarmed xp for each kill. I then decided to solo whites for the xp but I still was only getting 200-300xp. Im working on expert unarmed and I use every trick I have in combat but it changes nothing for the xp I get. I tried to use a vidro-knuckle but it told me I didnt have the cert for that and it didnt work that well. So it seems unarmed means "unarmed" and hope for a few consolation xps for your time.

Anyone out there who knows whats up with unarmed?

Welcome to melee.

What are the stats on your knucklers? If you get a set with good speed (around 2.0 or so...less if possible) it'll actually increase your attack speed but it won't give you any more damage. However, it also won't take away from the damage you already do. Try that. Are you using berzerk? Styles? Try those...just don't have knucklers armed when you use your special moves.

I think that that is about the max damage you can do for unarmed. With a carbine you can do alot more damage that with your fists. I use a one handed sword and sometimes I am able to get up to 500 xp but usually it is around 3 to 4 hundred. I tested that out with my laser rifle and can get alot more xp with that but then use my sword and it is alot less. It may be one of those things that the devs are working on, but that just may be because it is harder to do more damage and takes a little longer.

That is my thoughts.

Most people don't really grind through by spamming special attacks, so I disagree. Almost all people just let it fire and do random pool damage. There's just too much downtime if you spam away.

Although, the truth is, it doesn't matter. EXP is capped anyway, so taking out every bar on a creature will not give you more exp than just taking it down by one bar.

By the way, the low exp is probably explained by the fact you were fighting really weak stuff, since that's the only thing an Unarmed Brawler can now take out. A tier2 or even tier1 of any other melee type has better damage output than a tier4 brawler. Sad, but true.

Not true at all.

with a dlt20a(rifle) or a scout blaster(pistol) you can spam headshot2 or bodyshot2 non stop in combat.

I know I've got pistol specialist and rifle specialist via that method, it seems a d17h snub nose carbine will yeild similiar results for my quest for carbine specialist.

I can tell you exactly why you saw this disparity on Boles (if its the ones onDantooine).

They have 75% Kinetic resist, plus, medium armor. Bare fists have no AP, and it gets worse because of the high AR.

Always examine your target to see its stats an you'll know what and what not to use. When we fight those, I get out my FWG5 because Boles are vulnerable to Heat, and I pretty much get the lion share of exp on those (3200xp average because I and one other are the only with the heat based damage in my regular group).

I am pretty sure he is referring to Bolle Bolles on Naboo.

Bolle Bol. I love those things, they are not BAF, and aren't so big that they like to move away from you during battle.

They do have a tendency to hit for huge mind damage, so remember to bring a good Helmet if you intend to pick a fight with them.

Experience also is determined by what level you are in a skill, is it not?(Novice, apprentice, expert, master)

Bare with me, but as mobs turn form red to green, you get less experience. I thought this was true, but I could be wrong... (so don't flame me people!)

Thanx for all the input guys, but here's an added twist:I'm Wookiee. Yep that's right guys, no armor. Soloing I get beat-up hard core. Sure I can take it better than other races but not with out mass down time. They need to do something to balance this skill better.
