Thread: How I finally figured out a decent way to grind unarmed 4
1. Get a pet, doesn't matter what kinda, just make sure he can group so you get the XP bonus
2. Find creatures that are con white to you with your bare hands.
3.Open up with whatever kind of bleeding you can produce from a gun. In my case, Bleeding Shot, HS2, HS1.
4. Switch to your hands and give the creature a good UnarmedHit1 for ~150 dmg
5. Equip a pair of VK's. YesI know youare not certified and I also know they do less dmg per hit. I saw that with bare hands I would do an average of 70dmg per hit and with VK's Iwould do 60 average. The trick is that VK's you attack 2-3 times faster than with your bare hands, so over time you do WAY more damage.
6. Continue to use NORMAL attack with VK, the HAM costs for specials are outrageous so ONLY do normal attacks.
7. Heal yourself as you need.
8. If you are gonna bite it send in the pet for a quick tank and sacrifice a lil xp for your life/incap.
I was able to kill Cu Pas, Womp Rats, and Mutant Womp Rats on Tat for between 600-1000xp one after another useing this. Evidently all the bleeding dmg defaults to your unarmed xp when doing this.
Good luck, I know it sucks.
Well I did a little test last night. I went around killing Blue Imperials by myself. I used both unarmed combat and a pistol which I have askill rank of 3 in both. When I killed them using unarmed I got 15xp when I used a pistol I got 107xp. I have given up on unarmed for the moment as I have been trying to get my 70k for about 4 days and am only about half way.

Since VKs have AP 1, they do the same damage as unarmed against unarmored targets and get better damage against armored targets.
Compare numbers above the target's head or multiply VK's damage by 1.25 from what is given in the combat tab. There is no damage loss from knucklers and you still get the speed increase.
6. Continue to use NORMAL attack with VK, the HAM costs for specials are outrageous so ONLY do normal attacks.
If you use looted knucklers, you can use specials as often as you could unarmed. Their HAM costs are not messed up like crafted ones.
Personally, I don't see the unarmed grind as being any worse than any other Master level grind.
