Thread: My 1 and only concern

My one and only rant about this class is that it hurts my health to use any special moves. I mean really, isn't this what we have an action pool for? OH WHY OH WHY DOES IT HURT MY FREAKING HEALTH? Does it hurt my hand when I use unarmed hit? Does it hurt my head when i head buttto blind the enemy? Are we really supposed to believe that we are that incompetant?


Seriously, I love the game and i'm having a blast but IMHO, I think they don't want us to use any special moves and I think this is about the most retarded thing i've ever run into in a mmorpg. I'm not trying to chain moves or anything like that either but when faced with more than one enemy, I feel that I need to somehow cripple both with intimidate, or stun or blind or something so that i don't get my butt kicked. I end up helping the enemy by hurting myself.


This is sooo stupid. Please tell me i'm not the only one who feels this way.

I"m surprised this hasn't been brought up before. But now that you mention it, I totally agree with you. It's idiotic that all special moves burn up health, and mind too. I dislike that feature a lot.

It does seem particularly stupid when you add in an inability to kite like a marksman can, especially if your fighting unarmed. You have to stay next to what your fighting in order to hit it, or them as the case may be, and now your going to use a special move thats going to hurt yourself as much as your opponent? I'll agree, something doesn't make sense here. I don't seem to recall master Chan ever telling me to hit myself at the same time I hit my opponent, either with my hands or any of the weapons he taught to use. To tell the truth it doesn't make much sense for marksmen either, I can see that one in basic training :


"Alright, listen up. For every round you shoot at the target, you must then point the gun at your foot, and pull the trigger. Tomorrow, we're working on burst fire, so you'll need to shoot yourself in either the stomach or leg."

And on a side note, a flamethrower was actually designed for taking out light targets. Specifically unarmored people. It's pretty useless against a tank, particularly modern, enviromentally sealed ones. Against people its great, it's area affect, it does severe damage to the targets, continues to damage them after the initial hit, can spread to collatoral targets as the initial victims run around, has beneficial secondary affects (particularly in enclosed spaces), can temporarily blind those it doesn't hit providing cover for allies to move forward, and is a great psychological weapon as well. Using it on a gnort, or a dancer, may seem overkill, but honestly, if someone lights you on fire, are you going to be thinking about much else at the time?

hehe..that's great. "everytime you shoot someone you shoot yourself in the foot." this is really what it's like. anyway, wish there was something we could do about it (short of choking the devs). hehe
