Thread: Newby mistake
I don't suppose anyone else is likely to be stoopid enough to do this but as a word of warning ....
Currently Master Brawler working toward TKA. I still carry player crafted VKs for speed. They were getting a trifle scratched so thought I would buy a weapon repair tool. If you think the same, and are not a weaponsmith (presumably) DON'T! Repair was negligable but the maximum condition of the weapon was reduced each time I used the tool. Yes, I was stoopid enough to do it twice.
Just my little bit of wisdom, to help the day ![]()
Actually, I believe the item will suffer some degree of overall condition decline no matter who repairs it.
And you're lucky- you could have destroyed it completely!

"And you're lucky- you could have destroyed it completely!"
- Oh yes... I've done this several times. I now carry two of everything with me, just in case. ![]()
I do kinda laugh when I read something like this. No offense....no wait....please....let me explain before you light the flamethrower.....please......please.....please!!!!!
Sorry, I'm kinda tired at the moment and a little out of it. I have a DLT20A crafted by Mambres before he quit. It is a very good weapon and even though I now have a NICE T-21, I still use the DLT as a backup weapon. When this gun was getting low on condition, I bought a repair kit and repaired it to full condition, but about half it's original max. The point of this post is that I would like to point out that while it is a risk, using a tool can severely increase the amount of time you can keep that high quality weapon from your favorite smith.
/looks at post for a second or two
yeah, that's what I ment to say.........I think?
The condition will always go down every time a weapon is repaired. The point of this is you can not keep the same weapon forever. It forces people to buy new weapons every now and then, the for making a play play cycle of providing goods and buying goods. Who would want to be a weapon crafter if once someone buys their weapon they will never need a new one?
Sorry bud, you will not be able to keep that set of VKs forever like you were hoping.
