A suggestion to improve melee survivability: Confused "state"
Confused state would cause the attacker to randomly select a target from all available enemies within range of the attack used.
This would work on NPCs and PCs. In the case of NPCs, they might randomly move around a bit as well (perhaps near targets would be in the target list of a melee mob as well as ones already within melee range). In the case of PCs, their selected target would not change, but the target of each attack would be randomly determined from all enemies within range of the selected attack. Any attackable PC would be in the target list, as well as all aggressive MOBs. Non-aggressive mobs would not be in the list.
This idea is formost for PvE survivability of Melee players, which is why I posted it here in the Brawler forum. With several brawlers on a mob that must randomly select a target each attack, fewer deaths and incaps would occur. Medics would be able to heal better, combat medics AOE heals would be increased in effectivness, and group play would be improved.
Which classes and special moves would get this new state? That would depend on just how common and effective the Dev's want it to be....
