Thread: Melees unite!
Who here is tired of being pushed aside every patch as our tremendous issues go unnoticed?
Who here is sick of being treated like you don't matter because you'd rather use a melee weapon or your fist?
Who here is **edit**ing tired of being told "So get a gun" when they feel they're unbalanced?
If you want to see all the melee classes get beefed up so we're atleast viable. Sign here! Maybe Devs will take notice like they did for Commandos and melees will get boosted.
(As it stands TKAs are by far the strongest melees. And even they aren't that good unless they're masters in PVP)
i have no idea where darksidebilly picked up that the devs said that brawlers were overpowered... from what i see they're looking to expand the 'fudge factor' on hand to hand attacks hitting... along with speed/dmg changes to ALOT of combat... basically making fencers/pistoleers the fast, heavy swords/carbines the medium, and riflemen/pikesman the slow but heavy hitters... i think stuff is gunna change... alot of the combat stuff being reworked... more weapons added, for more variety, even possibly more flavors of vibroknuckles..

please add hitting while running when in range
please add some movement bonuses (i mean we are supposed to be athletic due to the rigors of training right? fighting is exercise shooting isn't)
please keep us from killing ourselves with moves

Ok I have been a melee fighter for a long time. I definetely feel we need more love. Fact I TKA master such as myself can in theory be killed by a novice marksmen. If he and I start running at the same time from 64 meters, and wants to kite me for awhile he can kill me, and I have neither the means to close the gap on him, nor the means to attack him. Yes most people mix at least some sort of novice tier to elite tier ranged weapons with their brawling. However someone like myself who has devoted their entire in game life to melee and has absolutely no ranged skills should have the ablity to take on a ranged npc or player and defeat them. As the way things stand now. With special move costs high, and maybe not on the base move cost but the weapon move costs which are insane.the only way to catch them is by burst running, praying they don't burst run, and having the sinking feeling in ur stomach that u just helped urself get incapped, by draining ur own hams. I am not gonna sit here say we are nerfed, and we have no chance. In PvP i have killed more then I have been killed. However considering monsters attack the closest thing to them and unless someone has a pet to stand behind as a meat sheild. The brawlers are always the first to get incapped, take wounds and battle fatigue with no real means to be the one far away gaining easy exp cause we can sit 19-64 meters away firing away while we play the human cannon fodder. Yes in theory we can supposedly do more dmg, but when u look at master headshot skill with a t21 dealing out 3k+ in dmg. I am not sure we have the means to match this. Or a stopping shot with from a pistoleer doing 1500+ dmg. As a TKA master I have hit around the 1500 mark with vibro knucklers using unarmed 3 which drains a 1/4 of my hams. But, when u give the choice of doing 1500 real close and being a meat shield or doing 1500 from afar while being relatively safe. I am sure most people will take the safe route. What we need is more dmg avoids and absorbs, more dmg done, more A.P. options as the highest we have now is Med A.P. while ranged gets heavy. Lower special move costs since our hams are stretched thing just trying to take the beating from being the first one in, and I would say more damaging weaponary or special move modifiers. When I was a pistoleer I could hunt for 5-6 hours before reaching 60 battle fatigue and now I can aquire 60 B.F. in 5 mins. We don't want to be gods, but we don't want to be human shields either. Looking over this list some devs and some players might says that I want too much and am being greedy. But when you think about the fact that we get surrounded by 4-5 creatures and pounded on and the ranged people don't usually get attacked until after we have been polished off, then I think they can start to realize that our hams are super important and we are afraid of using our specials cause we already know we need to save every last point to live through mob battles.
