Brawler Archive

Hopefully I'm not wasting everyone's time and, if I am, I offer a heartfelt apology. Here's my concern:

I began play as a brawler and attained master brawler status. I have since moved into the 2handed field as well. I began thinking that commando sounded really cool, so I began earning all of my ranged skills. I was at the cusp of learning commando when I realized 2 things.

First, I realized I'd have to drop my hard earned brawler skills.....no dice there.

Secondly, I became increasingly aware of creatures/npcs offering fewer xp per kill. I realize that this is to make a player go after more difficult quarry, my concern is whether or not I can return to the previous xp earnings when I dump ranged skills. I have dropped all but pistol (I had all ranged but rifle 4) and have seen no increase in xp values.

I feel like I wasted a lot of "intermediate xp" earinings on skills I won't use now and fear that I'll be working extra hard to earn needed xp for brawler now. Does anyone know if I'm right, or am I imagining things? I'm almost tempted to begin a new brawler character on the same server (sticking only with brawler) if I will earn xp faster than I am currently.
