WELL . . HAS ANYONE GOT ANY SOLID INFO ON THIS. SPECULATION DOES NOT DO ANYONE GOOD. AND YES I KNOW THE RUMOR IS THAT THEY ARE USED FOR LIGHTSABERS. BUT NO ONE KNOWS THAT FOR SURE SO DONT WRITE THAT PLZ

The rumor that they are used in lightsabers is cause of the Xbox RPG "Star Wars: KNights of the Old Republic"
No, they have no use.. Except "look pretty"

It's also because when you put Krayt Pearls in the trade windows and select them its says under the name "Melee Weapon Component", same thing goes with Crystals. I've never seen these used in survival knives so I assume they're for lightsabers.

I recently found an orb that dropped off of a jabba flunkie that also said that it was a melee weapon component. No statistics as to what it does/improves though. I guessing that my orb as well as the pearl might be involved in crafting weapons that either aren't currently in the game, or that nobody is able to craft yet due to not having the proper skill set *cough*jedi*cough*
