Thread: polearms xp...
Where can I get a good polearm? Does anyone know, because others I've asked really don't have a clue. I'm trying to master brawler, and I'm having the usual trouble everyone seems to have with unarmed, but I'm also having a rough go with polearms. I just can't seem to find one that can do any decent damage. I'm hitting for 200-400 with 2 handed weapons 3, and 150-300 with one handed 3, and only about 80-120 with polearms 3, and it's getting tiring and taking forever, because I have to keep switching out my weapon for something a little stronger so I don't get incapped.
If anyone knows of good ones, and where to get one, including some vendor coords, that'd be really helpful.
What weapon are you using It sounds like your using a lower end polearm?
yeah, it is a low end polearm. The problem is not with that, i'm sure it's great as a starting polearm. The problem that I'm now having is that there doesn't seem to be any better ones out there. I've traveled to a number of vendors on a few planets, but either they don't have any polearms at all, or they only have ones that are just like, or just slightly better than, mine.
My question is if anybody knows where I can find a good polearm, or at the very least, a decent one that I can use. I'm not interested in continuing on with that profession, I only want to master brawler, but it just sucks when I have to give up 200+ damage with each hit in order to use this thing. And, of course, when I switch it out for a stronger weapon, like my axe, then I don't get very much xp for the polearm, so it's taking a very long time.
I can't even AFK grind, because I have to keep paying attention to make sure my HAM bars don't drop too low before I switch in a stronger weapon. Please help.
I couldn't find a decent polearm before the 3rd box. The good news is - for the 1st 3 boxes, you don't need exp. Either kill durnis, or do tougher missions with your main profession, but finish off the lairs with your polearm (slow, but you can get more than a thousand exp per lair in a completely risk-free way). At polearm3, you can use a long vibro axe, which will up your damage significantly, and probably be a bit faster as well.
Once I had the LVA, the exp wasn't too bad. If you already have the rest of novice brawler, you can fight bigger things (pikets, for example). Just use all the debuffs you have available (intimidate, unarmed stun, unarmed blind), then switch to polearm and attack. If stun or blind wear off, switch back to unarmed, reapply, then go back to polearm. Since you won't be killing anything of consequence fast with brawler poelarm3 skill, I found it useful to knock the opponent's damage output down as much as possible.
find a good lance, i say lance instead of long vibro axe just because the lance has way better accuracy and belive me your gonna get mad when u miss with a long vibro axe since it takes alot out of you when you use specials
try to get speed sliced too if you can cus you miss alot, and are a sitting duck for 4-5 seconds
