I want to add a second brawler profession to compliment my TKA.

I want TKA for speed and I want to add a heavy hitting melee profession for pure damage.

I like pikeman and I'll probably do it nonetheless but I wanted to start a discussion anyway.

It seems to me that most high end mobs have more blast vunerabilities than electric and kinetic vunerabilites. If this were the case then the Power Hammer would be an excellent weapon for high end mob hunting.

well, if you dont master pike dont do it.

However, if you have points left over you can do the pike defensive branch as it has all the defe mods in it.

I was a Pikeman once and love the weapons but. This game is about GCW and that means PvP. So I would pick heavy sword for the mind bleeds and mind attacks.

I am about two master fencer and will probably learn 3 of the 4 branches in heavy sword to go with my Master Brawler. I have 2/3/0/4 TKA (def mods andcure poison/disease) and plan on taking the pike def branch. Unfortunately I can not run up hills anymore, lol (but I can ride a mount or vehicle).

I prefer to stay away from using TKA for damage as everyone else is a TKM. I want to cause my damage with melee weapons and melee weapons alone.

That said, I know of some pretty toughBrawler/Fencer (master) and TKA/Pistoleers (dabble). They have an incredibl dodge bonus (which I think is wrong, but oh well).

Combat xp tree of swordsman is pretty effective...I've hit for up to 6k of mind bleed PvE with just those 3 boxes.

I am a fairly new pikeman and I am currently 3-3-3-3 so far. The 450k trees are a beast to get but I am hacking away at it.

Anyway, I actually like the Pikeman tree a lot and here is why: I group with a TKM and I typically do better against higher armor creatures like Voritors but the best part is Pikeman are AOE (area of effect). We get area knockdown, stun, dizzy and really good bleeds that stack. It attacks the action bar and not the mind, but when you can hit any bar for 1800 in stacked bleeds, it doesn't matter too much how long their bars are.

Of course, I don't PVP as I don't see this being the only reason for the game, but that is just me. Pikeman are really good in PVE and I have no experience in PVP to relate to you.

I am now working on Master Brawler and so far (3-3-3-4), I find I want to delve more deeply into either TKA or Fencer to balance me out once I reach Master Pikeman.

I am a Master Brawler, Master Fencer, TKA 2/3/0/4 and sword 0/2/2/1 and novice pike

I have a holo that says master pike but I wanted to develop an uber melee character. I stayed away from pike as my main damage dealer as they miss soooooo much. I am probably going to drop some of the fencer (keep the def mods) then master sword. However, I once was a junior pikeman on Tarquinas when I first started and if what you say is true about not missing much at the master lvl (and my holo saying to master it) I might give it a twirl, no pun intended.

I have always loved Pikeman but was so upset on their accuracy and HAM useage. It doesnt stack up to the other elite professions below the master level. I cant speak about how it compares at the master lvl as I have never mastered it.

That said, things will change in Jan/Feb as the weapons update to the Redux of the Combat system will be released (phase two).

Pikeman sux we all know its sad but its true.........
