Thread: The New Warcry

The new change to warcry is up on test center for everyone to try out.

From my few minutes of trying it out it seems to do absolutely nothing now.

It still has a cone effect that works just as bad as the current warcry, the same range, the same high ham cost, and the same failure rate. The enemy you use the warcry wont stop hitting you because you will aotu hit him before you even get the message that its been delayed.

I would like to hear feedback from anyone that has a master brawler on TC, maybe warcry 2 will be better.

I would like to know if warcry2 is like an aoe mez (daoc reference) does it make enemies stop who you aren't attacking? if so, could be good against many enemies.

Not to split hairs or anything but "mez" is an EQ term initially :-)

Yep, it doesn't hold them down.

I'm gonna write up a report and ask for some upgrades to what exists (though I can't guarantee anything). First and foremost I think that Warcry really needs to be AE given its current utility.

Warcry is awesome the way it is why would anyone want it changed.


I use KD then Warcry on mobs, holds them down for 20 seconds. How could anyone not like this


I use a warcry shirt and i have hardly any problems on level 60's

A TKM/MHS/Fencer/Etc with Warcry 2 can hold quite a few mobs down for 20s and thats a long time when your dishing out insane dmg (which all of those profs do at Master), its speculated that this is one of the reasons they nerfed it, they "dont want people soloing high level content" as Ive seen said a few times within the last few days. The main reason though is because its kind of overpowered in PvP, pretty much if someone lands a Warcry 2 on you, your dead MOST of the time, this holds especially true when your knocked down and Warcried.

If you are refering to level 60 pets, then good. You shouldn't have any problem taking them out considering that a creature handler can use level 70 pets and use weapons at the same time.

i dont use warcry in pve, its pointless, its much better to proceed doing 6k dmg a second with my scythe. But im going to have to drop master brawler for tka once this warcry nerf is in.

Warcry2 in PvP doesn't pin you to the floor like it does an NPC or Mob. If you are effected with Warcry you just need to run for it and let the melee try to catch you (difficult thing to do as any melee will tell that has been kited) AFAIK the nerf was solely based on it's effectiveness in PvE. KD, Warcry2 (assuming they both stick of course) and you have 20seconds to spam Hit3 on your target. Even as a fencer, with the worst Damage output in game, that's a 12K HAM mob down before it'll get up. Now obviously a 12k mob was meant to be solo'd (I assume) but not killed in 10seconds or less. Then, combine this with better damaged classes and you can see why they didn't like it.


Trouble is, Master Brawler without it isn't worth the points.
