Thread: What Does Taunt Do?
hi.
im really curious.does taunt do?
nheer nheer - you taunt your enemy! - ?
Taunt has it's share of usefulness.
you can taunt from like 50m away and the best part is,if you fight an npc with a ranged weapon taunt force's them to melee.<3
from my experimentation only.
Never in hundreds of successful Taunts has anything ever happened for me other than the fight music comes on andI go into crossed-sabers combat mode.
Unfortunately, the enemy I Taunt just stands there like they never heard me; I have to run up and start beating on them before they fight back, and they have never charged at me after being Taunted.
So yeah, pretty useless if you ask me.
It is a very useful GROUP skill. It allows you to pull a mob off someone in the group onto you. This is not as needed with alot of pets, but it does let you help keep others in your group alive.
(pull the creature off the doc, or off the commando and so on)
If they do make the changes to creature handler and the aggro system they are talking about this may become a critical skill to have.
If a group member is under atack use taunt, if it lands the mob will decide to munch on you instead ![]()
Edit: fyi it seems taunt only works on ur current target, if you select something else and do /taunt then it changes ur target to it and you have to use /taunt again to get it to actually taunt that new target.
