I was wondering how toughness works. Is your toughness number your resistance to kinetic damage. For instance, If I have a toughness of 24, does that mean that I have a 24% resistance to kinetic damage, or is it 24% resistance to melee damage in general?
Any answers would be be appreciated.

Hmm I don't know... I've always thought Toughness increases the damage you give. This needs some investigation, but it's hard to see what it really do.

toughness decreases the amount of damage you take. it does not increase our damage or anything else. but it decreases damge you take. i dnt know if it is on a percetage or anouther system but i do know it decreases the damage you take. and this damage s any type of damage not just melee attacks but range as well.

Toughness does act like natural armor: 50 unarmed toughness means that you have 50% resists to melee damage when you are fighting unarmed.

How much damage can be dealt to you comes from toughness as well.

It works not unlike another layer of armor for melee, 25 toughness means you take 75% the normal melee damage, 50 toughness means you take 50% the normal melee damage, etc... A very useful skill.
