I was wondering how many skill points you start out with and how much skill points does it take to be a master brawler. I brought as strat guide but people said when you reach master bh it takes 217 but i calculated 248 using the strat guide.

Hello

You start out with 250 skill points, and if you get Master Brawler and nothing else then you will have 173 remaining.

Hope this helps.

You start out with 250 skill points. Starting professions (Brawler, Marksman, Scout, etc) take 77 points to master. Elite and Hybrid professions take 63 points to master. Getting to master BH takes up 217 points.

To be a bounty hunter you need to master Scout and Marksman, and then the Bounty Hunter Tree.

You start with 250 skill points and if you master bounty hunterm Scout and Marksman and nothing else you will have 33 skill points remaining.

Have a look here for a good skill point calculator Kodan's ProfCalc

I'm a total noob to the politician profession. I'm part of a guild and a large city. I only have like 35 k though and by the looks I would never be able to upkeep the city, and pay for everything? Are taxes the only way to pay for it, how does the tax system work, etc.

Also, what exactly and how exactly do I manage a militia and what does it do?

Thanks for any replies!

Nar Shadda, Dantooine, Starsider is a Rank 3 city (39 citizens) run completely on taxes. Here is the tax breakdown:

-Income tax: 2000cr

-Property tax: 25%

-Garage tax: 10%

Currently, we are making a little surplus every week. Of course, I also haven't placed our clone center yet. So, when I do that will suck about 20k out of the budget. I will be forced to either run the city in the red till we get enough citizens to counter the loss or to just wait till I have enough citizens to afford the clone center. It's all about propery budget management. I don't usually place things that the city can't afford. I mean, we have streetlights scattered througout town, trainers, and mission terminals. Right now I have a choice. I can either place a garden or two or place a clone center. While the gardens are a nice touch, a clone center is much more practical and is much more requested. So, I will probably place the clone center first and as we near 45 or 50 citzens I will place a garden or two.

Basically, instead of placing everything at once that makes the city nice and pretty, I just wait till we can afford them. Sure, it all makes the cities look nice, but when you are truly trying to run a city on taxes only, you place what you can, when you can. As for our taxes specifically, I haven't had any complaints from my citizens and most a pretty content with the level they are at. I also take the time to explain to my citizens how the taxes work and how they influence the city over time. This way, the citizens are informed and understand why we dont have all of those gardens yet.

Btw, did the dev's fix the structure maintenance issues from Publishes 12, 12.1, and 12.2???

Check here for a full faq on the politician profession, most everything is there.

As for the current tax system, most cities cannot survive on taxes alone. You will need to help out of pocket or look to guild members to help support.

Despite popular belief, it is possible. I run a Rank 3 city fully on taxes. It just takes proper money management and healthy spending habits to run a city on taxes alone.

Become a crafter and fast, most ppl in cities these days dont wanna pay anything. I mean, think about it, what is the benefit of living in a player city?

I don't know how people play over on Wanderhome, but on Starsider many people want to be a part of cities. And they want to be in a city for the community aspect of it. Some of the largest cities on Starsider are simply populated for RP purposes and the fact that people can go to these cities and just chat with other people. This beats trying to have a conversation in Theed or Coronet any day of the week.

Honestly, I hardly ever leave my city. I spend most of my time in my city chatting with others, helping with guild functions, or running the city. And so far, I haven't had any complaints about the taxes in my city. While they might be higher than other cities on Starsider, they are pretty reasonable and anyone who isnt a n00b can afford them.
