Thread: Melee vs. Range...would this work??
I wish they would do two things to make melee vs. ranged encounters more balanced.
1. Get rid of the ability to tell, by the radar, who is not of your faction. It might be better to have people who are overt not even show up on the radar at all. That way stalking and being stealthy would actually mean something.
2. Get rid of the ability to auto target someone of opposing faction. IfPvP combatants must manually target their opponents, and the opponents should have a way to make their adversary lose their target a whole new dynamic and balance for duelingand battles would be opened up. As an example, if a ranged opponent is firing at me and I hit the ground or break theline of sight, he should have to reaquire his target before being able to fire again. Then, I can dodge and take evasive action while I am trying to close the distance on him. If a ranged fighter moves at all, he should lose his target and have to reaquire it before firing again. Possibly even give brawlers some inate skill or new ability to cause our opponents to lose their targets likegiving us smoke grenades to throw and cloud our ranged brothers ability to acquire us in their sights. Maybe acloaking device that we can activate that causes this effect. It would have to be balanced where we couldn't use it all that often, like burst running though.
Would this help the ranged vs. melee balance?
