Was wondering if toughness of the different melee classes stacked or not ......for example ...if i have 22 unarmed toughness and 20 sword toughness....do i take 42 less in any melee encounter? ...or do i take the reductions only with a weapon of that class equipped? In other words ..if i have a pike weapon in my hand ...do i have 42 damage reduction?

Only works with a weapon of that class equipped. You can move your cursor over the skill modifier on the bottom left of the screen for a description of the skill. It states that it the toughnesses only apply with the correct weapon.

I was afraid that was the case.

Does the same apply for 'Ranged Defense' and 'Melee Defense' with different skills trees likeRanged Defenseand TKA?

if so I may pick up the tree just to boost my melee/ranged defenses for my TKA
