Should unarmed brawlers wear armor? Or is this more for marksmen?

Bone armor isn't worth it - no resistance to kinetic (melee) damage at all. You'd need at least mabari, that has 5-7% resistance from what I've seen. No idea how much damage prevention that translates to, though.

I tried to buy my set, thetrade bugged out during the trade and destroyed the armor, then after a relog i can't log in that character at all. Whee.

I wear no armour although today The armour smiths on my server will final have personal shields. So I will be wearing one. Armour slows you down and negs your stats. I dont think its worth the trouble. No armour has worked just fine for me but then I have a bitchen Pilots jacket.

Be careful with armor, I wasted the money on bone armor and now I'm getting my butt kicked faster. I am doing less damage and I think I take more damage than before.

I have a full set of mabari armorweave. I won't melee without it now. If I get hit for 60 I usually only actually take half of that. If some hotshot decides to whip out a gun, I equip my bone armor legs/chest/helm. It saves my bacon as well. Just trynot to spam specials (not that anything except intimidate/berserk actually work anyway).

When personal shield generators are for sale on my server, I'll get one of those.

Is mabari good against all melee, like enemies with axes, etc? I got may a$$ handed to me by some dude with a ppikeman stick. I started bleeding and losing 350 per shot, with the bone armor on. Was not a happy camper.

Well now I have full Mabari AND a pair Vibro Knucklers. Even though I'm a Zabrak, and actually put stat migration INTO mind and not Str, I am a walking, swinging, vortex of whoop a$$ against melee attackers. I'm still waiting for a personal shield generator, but with that and full Bone Armor, I expect to put some major smack on gun users as well, that is if I can close the distance.

Brawler+Mabari+Knucklers=Fun

Melee damage is kinetic damage. Bone armor has zero protection against kinetic, so you are just nerfing your stats if you are wearing bone armor in a melee fight. Mabari actually does some good against kinetic. The question is, is it worth the loss of the secondary stats? Only way to know is to try and see. Personal Shield Generators, by the way, have great energy protection (blaster fire), but also have zero kinetic protection and zero encumberance. It would make sense to wear one against armed opponents so you can close on em and eviscerate them, but it won't help otherwise.
