Brawler Archive
Thread: New brawler observations.
Hi all. Im new to these boards and ive been playing for just over a week or so.
I started out as a marksman and I have a rifles rating of 3. I was enjoying this up to a point. Theres something lovely about taking out a wookie brawler with one shot from ur rifle. This was to be shortlived however when I came up against bigger foes, e.g. Stormtroppers with their 8000 HAM
. Total nightmare. So after talking to a helper and asking about combat advice he advised me to try brawling and this in turn leading to TKA.
Im now a 2-2-0-0 brawler and im really quite enjoying it. Ive taken notes from this forum and I have a VK (although not sliced) and Im using beserk a lot to get good kills on white and lower targets.
I have a couple of small questions though.
1.) Im on Corellia and im looking for large xp kills. Right now im just killing Durni, meatlumps, and butterflys mostly. Any one able to point me in the right direction?
2.) Im looking at getting 4 on unarmed and then going on to TKA, should I stick with brawler and try and master it instead?
3.) Is there any tactic to killing red targets? For example is there any way a 2level brawler can take on a stormtrooper and not lose?
Cheers for any help.
Greetings and welcome to the wonderful world of brawler!
1. It will be awhile before you can get large XP creatures from missions because the terminals base the difficulty level on your expertise with your equipped weapon. Crazed Durni, Krahbu and Gurrcats are level 10 and probably just above your level with single pulls and good XP.
2. I would recommend mastering brawler first for the simple fact that it is very helpful in leveling TKA or any of the other melees. Kill yard trash until your advanced in all branches and then find a good hunting spot (one with a good mixture of creature levels) and stay put until your Master.
3. Stay away from reds.
Agree with the above. If you had good kinetic resist armor and doctor buffs you could go to Lok and kill some of the lower end Lokian mobs for great xp but it would take time as your damage output is low.
I must say, MASTER BRAWLER, the intimedate and warcry are sooooo useful. It is how I can kill NS solo, the intimedate cuts their damage output and the warcry 2 is a 20 second delay. They are both non aggro so you can stand 20m away and use them and not draw aggro from a non-hostile mob. Once those are done you can have your way. So many ppl dont understand the value of Master Brawler, it has some of the best skills in the game. I and tear down any TKM that is not a master brawler, and that is pure fact. Once I intimedate them and cut their damage in half then I delay them for 20 and bleed them, beat them and crush them. It is slaughter, wholsale murder if you will. They never, nor will they ever, have a chance against ANY elite melee with master Brawler. Of course I have all the def mods from fencer and TKA too. hehe
Thanks for the tips guys. I will try my best to master brawler before going on to anyother skills then. To be honest im happy with this, it gives me something to work towards. Got a long way to go though, should be fun!
Could someone tell me about Doctor bufs? I understand that they increase your HAM bars, but is that all they do? Is this increase a temp or perm? If itstemp then when it wears off do u lose all the damage you have taken from your original HAM bars, therefore killing your character anyway? Is any of this making sence?
