Thread: A newbie question... Which brawler profession is most balanced for both PvE and PvP?
i have seen a Teris Kasi Master (TKM) lose to a Master Fencer, and to a Master Swordsmanand of course to almost every ranged profession as they kite the TKs, but i have never seen a Pikeman of any level (Master included) defeat a TK of any level (Novice included). i am not saying this cannot happen, i have just never seen it happen.
i would have to say that Master Fencer and Master Teris Kasi are pretty evenly matched. Master Swordsmen hit REALLY REALLY HARD and that is a good thing, especially to the mind pool, BUT the do not hit fast enough, even at the Master Level to beat someone with good armor and a mind buff.
Pikeman is one broken class that needs fixed. it makes me sad because my first ever SWG character was going the Pikeman route, but sadly i deleted the character and stared over. perhaps if they fix the class i will again try the Pikeman Profession, but as it stands it just does not work well enough to be considered balanced with the other melee professions.
All around though, for both PvE and PvP i would suggest TKA or Fencer.
just my $0.02
tka is the most balanced.. but as a response to the pvp opinionz..master fencer with good tacticz should have no trouble with a tkm.. ..pike is too busy hittin the surrounding air to really be a issue.. like a friend told me... "only a pikeman can drop his weapon and miss the ground".. 2handed is fun for pve, but don't try to pvp someone...

tkm/master rifleman/fencer
Honestly? A combo of TKM/pistoleer/smuggler (for delay and knockdown) is a pretty good template for both PVE and PVP, but I'd put my money on a TKM any day. Takes 2 seconds to kd/dizzy, and they're opponent is finished =)
