Thread: A newbie question... Which brawler profession is most balanced for both PvE and PvP?

When I ask brawlers out there they all seem to say swordsman is that true?

TKM seems pretty good at 1vs1 combat, but I often see them loose against Pikeman.

i have seen a Teris Kasi Master (TKM) lose to a Master Fencer, and to a Master Swordsmanand of course to almost every ranged profession as they kite the TKs, but i have never seen a Pikeman of any level (Master included) defeat a TK of any level (Novice included). i am not saying this cannot happen, i have just never seen it happen.

i would have to say that Master Fencer and Master Teris Kasi are pretty evenly matched. Master Swordsmen hit REALLY REALLY HARD and that is a good thing, especially to the mind pool, BUT the do not hit fast enough, even at the Master Level to beat someone with good armor and a mind buff.

Pikeman is one broken class that needs fixed. it makes me sad because my first ever SWG character was going the Pikeman route, but sadly i deleted the character and stared over. perhaps if they fix the class i will again try the Pikeman Profession, but as it stands it just does not work well enough to be considered balanced with the other melee professions.

All around though, for both PvE and PvP i would suggest TKA or Fencer.

I'd say tka has the best skills for pvp/pve. As a tka i've crushed some master fencers in duels. And pike stands no chance of beating anything in a duel. Swordsman does hit hard and i love it in pvE for that fact (doing 8k damage and landing 5k worth of bleeds)but the attacks are slow. The mind bleeds are nice if you can stay alive long enough for them to matter. The number one thing you can get to help you in pvp is master brawler. With warcry/intimidate/ua lunge 2 you can do some nasty things to people and your range for a kd increases to 20m.

MY SIG-I fight for the unconventional. My right and it's unconditional. I can only be as real as I can. The disadvantage is I never knew the plan. This isn't just away to be a martyr. I can't walk alone any longer. I fight for the ones that can't fight. And if I lose, at least I tried.

I won't be the inconsequential. I won't be the wasted potential. I can make it as severe as I can. Until you realize, you'll never take a stand. It isn't just a one sided version. We've dealt with a manic subversion. I won't let the truth be perverted. And I won't leave another victim deserted.

Swordsmanis very powerful, but not that slow it depends on the weapon you have too. I can hit every 1.5 seconds and I'm Novice Swordsman.

TKA has a KD, Dizzy, Blind, Stun... and they have a meditation line, which is very useful.

Fenceris quite good too and quick, even if I have not investigated it fully.

Pikeman is not accurate enough to be powerful I'd say, at low level it's very hard to hit something, it gets better in the Pikeman skill tree but not too much as I heard.

tka is the most balanced.. but as a response to the pvp opinionz..master fencer with good tacticz should have no trouble with a tkm.. ..pike is too busy hittin the surrounding air to really be a issue.. like a friend told me... "only a pikeman can drop his weapon and miss the ground".. 2handed is fun for pve, but don't try to pvp someone...

TK is the most balanced, which is what you asked. But if you're willing to spend the skill points to master brawler, I'd have to say that Swordsmen are just a bit better. Very few people have a blast layer in thier composite armor, and even if they do the power hammer is medium armor piercing.

For lower levels, I think One-handed is great. You get a nice dizzy attack at 1 handed 3, and a so-so lunge, all before even getting to Novice Fencer. Master Brawler, and with Lunge 2, you'll be knocking them down for the kill left and right.

Honestly? A combo of TKM/pistoleer/smuggler (for delay and knockdown) is a pretty good template for both PVE and PVP, but I'd put my money on a TKM any day. Takes 2 seconds to kd/dizzy, and they're opponent is finished =)

There is no REALLY balanced one. TKM for PvP (with Fencer) is the best, and for PvE Swordsman is by far the best. Cant help you on balanced
