Holo (or one of the other red names) mentioned that Scythes were given as part of a non-functioning quest. You could look through the dev tracker or try a search to find the exact quote.

Also a Scythe isn't a sword. It is a curved blade placed upon a staff. Think of the pointy thing that the Grim Reaper carries around.

Some people think that the scythe is the long curved blade that a mon calamari was weilding on one of the screenshots in the gallery.

But who knows the SWG definition of a scythe anyway. I wouldn't mind having either one though.

I know where to see one. GO to nyms outpost on Lok, inside the weapon cache in his fort, are two scythes sitting right next to the doorway in.

The weapon in the picture is a long vibro axe, which is a polearm weapon. Purchased one a short while ago with some pretty good stats.

Has the quest for the scythe been fixed by this point? And does anyone have the stats on the scythe?

The schematics for the Scythe are in the game but the weapon currently is not if I remember correctly, it will be soon however.

For the Swordsman, this is big news, they have been waiting for this weapon for a long time and the stats on it look to surpass any other weapon they have atm excluding maybe a really good sliced Powerhammer.

The schematic to craft a Scythe Blade is a loot in the Geonosian Dungeon. This dungeon is temporaly down on Live servers and will be activate in a mini-patch soon.

the schematic for the scythe is obtained from a quest from an npc in mos entha, tattooine. hedon istee will send you on three missions. after the 3rd mission, instead of paying you credits, you'll recieve an old holomap. this map is just like a treasure map, in that it will give you a wp to search. after you search, you'll be given another waypoint where the buried treasure actually is. but.....instead of 3 thugs appearing out of no where, a canyon krayt dragon appears instead. so, if you have warcry, use that, then loot the chest before you meat your doom.

also, to use the scythe, you must now have expert finese in the heavy swordsman profession. also, if you are deemed too weak to complete the mission, hedon istee will not talk to you.

lastly, there are specific components used to make the scythe. those are looted in the geonoshan dungeon.
