Thread: Problems with timing of beserk (unarmed branch, working towards smuggler)

I don't know if it is bugged, but I can't seem to get beserk to start when I want it to, it seems to start okay before I start combat, but sometimes if I am already in combat, it doesn't activate or it takes more time than it normally should.

I'm at unarmed 2 atm, enough xp to go UA 3.

look in the combat window when that happens, it will say something like "Your not in the mood to go beserk" or something like that. its EXTREMELY stupid imo and should be removed

I haven't looked at the combat window for that, but I'll look.

I get this problem too. When I try to beserk in combat, half the time I get a message saying that "I'm too calm to go beserk", which, ironically, makes me want to go beserk!
I figure the chances of this happening will decrease once I hit Master Brawler. I'm thinking I should also find some clothing with Melee bonuses.

The main problem is that the Berserk doesn't appear in the combat queue and yes there's a kind of lag when activating berserk in combat.

But the message you are talking about is very weird, I've never seen it, can you describe exactly what you do when you get that please?

When youre trying to go berzerk it will say in the combat spam

"You try to go berzerk, but it is no use, you are too calm"

And then you dont go berzerk. It happens to me fairly rarely, and at first I thought it was on a timer. Like, I couldnt use it more than once a minute or something. However, I found the solution to it

Spam Berzerk. When I want to go Berzerk, I usually hit it two or three times. One of them will usually catch. If not, I go back to spamming. There is a slight delay, but you will still autoattack while doing it.

Oh great.
Thanx.
I have used Berserk all the time with no problem.
Now you all Jinx me.
I have never heard of this problem. I use only use Berserk because all the other special attacks seem to suck. I am 4310 on the tree so far. Working on 2-handed branch now.
I buff, and have tried all the other specials I have so far, and all are worthless compared to Berserk.
So, next time I need it, I am going to get the message that I can't use it.
Thanx.

I see you get that message when you miss to go berserk?

I've experienced failure with berserk as well, but found it much less useful than intimidate and warcry. Whats not to love about cutting the damage someone deals in half and making them wait 10 seconds to hit you again? Only problem at novice is the low duration of intimidate, coupled with failure rates.

I wholeheartedly agree

When I first started on the low end of brawler though, +75 damage is a ton (when youre doing max of 50 or so per hit) so I would use it alot. Now, when Im smacking lairs around after all the mobs have popped out, I go berzerk to get a small little damage boost without wasting HAM on something that wont fight back. I suppose as I work further up the Power tree, that +75 will seem even more paltry... Oh well, it was good while it lasted. And the cool little gnashing teeth that pops up over your head when you Berzerk is kind of worth it
