Thread: Am I missing something about Unarmed?

Okay so I'm grinding towards Unarmed 4, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've heard that I should bleed animals like Pikets on dantooine (I've got Pistols 4). I've got health shot two, but the problem is it doesn't do all that much damage. It does about 120 dmg and not very often. Am I missing something? It would take like an hour to bleed one piket down to the point where I could kill it to get the exp. I've tried lesser plains bols, but they're just too easy. What should I do?

Here's why it isn't working as effectively. Basically, bleed shot doesn't work as well as it used to (for the purposes of gaining Brawler XP, and in general for that matter, because bleeds can't be stacked anymore). So what are you stuck with at this point? Some suggestions:

1. ALWAYS GROUP for 25% experience bonus. You can group with a pet or droid, leave them behind in town even.

2. Don't overlook the small stuff. Go to Moenia, Naboo, and kill the mobs of Spineflaps, Gnorts, Nunas, NightSpiders, etc., just behind the Cantina and Starport. You'll get about 100-150 XP each, they're all easy kills, and you'll rack up the XP FAST. This is especially effective as the spawns regen fast, so there's always something to kill.

3. Group with some powerful allies, and have them let you kill the lairs. Takes a lot of time, but you can rack up 3-6K of XP for each lair.

Hope this helps!

More than any other brawler line, unarmed is best spent xping on things from white to blue, all the high xp critters that a person with 2h 2 or 3 could take out (tusk cats, some low level narglatches) would take you significantly longer, along with subjecting you to the damage they deal for that increased amount of time. I recomend killing anything that moves outside in the newbie spawns. There were several threads on gaining Unarmed XP, not sure if they poofed or lost their sticky, but it appears they're no longer on the front page. I'll probably add one of these once I get some of the Correspondent Magical Powers (TM).

Also, DOTs now track the damage you deal with them for purposes of XP (or should, all my bleeds have crazy HAM costs so I don't use them when auto-attack suffices, I can check later tonight). Previously if something bled down to one health with a pistol DOT you could punch it once and gain all of the experience as Unarmed. Now you'd end up with 99% Pistol XP and 1% Unarmed XP.

Get SpinAttacks ASAP in any Brawler profession. This will let you attack multiple targets at once, and reduce the amount of time it takes to get your XP

My favorite method was hunting Kaadus on Naboo from the mission terminal. ALWAYS GROUP WITH A PET, DROID OR OTHER PLAYER!!!!! GET DOCTOR BUFFS! BUFFS = More time killing, less time healing! Maybe some Vasarian Brandy as well.

1) Male would give around 740-750 XP, Female would give 430 XP per kill

2) You get paid for running the mission from the terminal (around 2k credits)

3) Sell the Avian Meat to doctors, they need it for buff packs.

Use speed sliced VibroKnucklers, and try to get buffed up if possible. You will spend more time killing and less time healing

I would do this until I was bored out of my wits, or the XP started to drop off (as you become better in unarmed, you earn less XP per kill do to the creature's Con being lowered)

Then it would be on to Quenkers on Dantooine (using mission terminals). GET DOCTOR BUFFS FIRST!

1) 3118XP per kill

2) 5k credits per mission.

Once this gets boring, or the XP starts to decline again, it's off to Dathomir for Rancors!

Hope this is a little helpful....

I have leveled everything else from brawler (I am training for Fencer) by just killing quenker lairs that I have cleared out with my higher fencer skills. Each lair gives almost 4000xp and doesn't hit back! I got the first 3 tiers of unarmed, 2handed and polearm within 2 hours. Seems the best way to do it to me.

I am a newbie too. I've been at this game for about 2 weeks. I am currently at 65K in points for unarmed 4. That is today, Feb. 23rd. Yesterday at noon, I was at 22k points. For the brawler tree, I am 3334 and also a novic medic. That's it. No other professions. I earned about 43K in xp for unarmed 4 in about 5 hours. What I did was purchase a full set of Ubese armor in Naboo (Sandxor, You da man!) for about 150K. I then got some Vibroknuckles and talked to a novice (master would be better) smuggler to speed slice them to 2.1 speed. I took missions on Naboo. I fought Gungans and Female Kaadus (yellow asterisks). The missions were calledGungan camps orsomething like that. Level 9 only. When I started to fight, the first move I did was unarmed blind to the Gungan. Then immediatly went to Bezerk. When Bezerk ran out the gungan was already dead and then went to the female Kaadu and hit unarmed blind then Bezerk. Very rarely, was I incapacitated by the Kaadu. I recieve about 250XP for the Gungan, and about 639XP for the Kaadu. Then when I took out the camp, I got another 250XP. Thats 1139 per mission.Just keep at it. What you def. need is ubese armor at at least 70% kinetic, speed sliced VK's (2.1 or lower), and some stimpacks B (if you get in trouble). Keep hacking away, you'll get there.

For the last three day I've been on Lok in the drois cave( the one that Nym's badge sends you too) it is full of pirates I started out as brawler 4/0/4/0 and now I'm a TK 1/1/1/1.

With dizzy/knock down these guys barely touch me and when there is multiple on me I do the spin attack.

I am now half way to my second skill and my second box in strikes is less then 5K away now.

the higher I get in TK the more I'm enjoying it

I think once you get to TK you won't need armour - as they have v high toughness, not sure how you should go about getting there with no armour - best bet would probably be to get buffed first.
