From what TH said it sounds like warcry will freeze people from attacking you until they are attacked. So ok your fighting 1 vs 3 and you use warcry and freeze all 3 people, you begin attacking 1 of those people and kill him then go after the other person. Ok I see that. But what if you freeze all 3 people and then someone else uses a area attack on all 3 of them, so now they are unfrozen correct? So warcry will be worthless in pvp if someone else is already attacking or uses an area poison?

Here's some questions I'd like answered:

What is the range going to be on warcry? Will warcry freeze someone who is attacking you but whom you have not attacked (peaced or out of range for melee)? What is the timer on a person after you have attacked them to where they are vulnerable to warcry again? What about combat medics who throw area poisons - will they be immune to warcry since they are attacking? Will panic shot also be affected orthey just nerfing warcry? How will this nerf affect pve? Will knocking down acritter and using warcry still keep them down for 10-20 seconds? By the way, this is the best type of "crowd control" in pve.

I don't care if this nerf applies to pvp and humanoid mobs, but I'd like to be able to freeze critters from attacking for 10-20 seconds during a fight, it saves lives and how else are we melee fighters suppose to get the full benefit of the 50% dmg modifier to mobs with that are knocked down. Knockdown only lasts for 2-3 hits tops, with warcry u get an additional 10-20 seconds to get the 50% bonus. Very important feature when fighting in groups or solo against mobs with high resists.

We've got questions, who's got answers?

warcry will now prevent people from attacking? hasn't it always done that? they aren't adding anything new to it. saying it now has a cone effect is trying to sugar coat a turd sunday. it always had a cone effect. it always prevented your enemy from attacking. it already was used in crowd control. from what i interpret, they're only taking away from warcry, being that if you attack, your enemy will be able to attack again.

what i wanna know is, say i'm fighting a krayt dragon with my guild. uh oh, i'm pretty low on health, i better warcry the beast before i'm incapped. /warcry2, great, 20 seconds of healing. uh oh, that pistoleer from that other guild has just hit the dragon with stopping shot. what's going to happen now? am i going to be attacked again? will the dragon chase after whoever shot it? will it still be paused for 20 seconds if i didn't touch it? who's to know.

Range is staying the same 20m

As far as what I have heard its just Warcry not Panic Shot

You will never again keep a target down for 20 seconds b/c the moment there hit the Delay goes away. If you every played DAOC think of it like a MEZ spell, they are frozen but once hit the MEZ breaks and they can attack.

The timer resist is still 30 but seeing as how its no where near as useful as it once was who cares. Yes it will be good crowd control but it was already a CONE so it was crowdcontrol.

Oh and lastly it doesnt matter who hits it the moment its hit the Delay is gone by anyone, so if the imaginary pistoleer shots the delayed Krayt its probaly goin to go back to wailing on you.

What if u are attacking someone and then warcry and then peace out. Are they delayed for 20 seconds since u didnt attack them AFTER warcry? OR does the fact u have been attacking them before using warcry cause warcry to have no effect?

Need to leave it the way it is.

This will open up a whole new can of worms...I can already think of countless more ways of someone using this to grief than the current warcry.

Professions: Smuggler
  • Made droids, vehicles and turrets immune to the delay effect of panic shot.
  • Changed panic shot to not switch your combat target.
  • The delay effect of panic shot will break on damage to the target.

  • So it looks like Smuggler is getting nerfed too, so thats good. At least we aren't being singled out for nerfing. They apparently feel that locking down multiple opponents and getting 20 seconds to beat on them is bad.

Heres the thing: IF Warcry does what (I think) they planned, it will be okay. Not as good, no, but if you get swarmed by a bunch of critters, you can Warcry to take some of the heat off. I think they ought to make it an AoE tho, NOT a cone. Multiple targets fighting you melee circle around you. Cone does no good since it will likely only effect the one thing you are fighting.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

It would actually be useful if this were the case, but it appears that they want you to individually target each enemy attacking you, and warcry each (Warcry has the same note about it as panic shot does above). It's apparently 'more fun' that way, dontchya know?

While they made it so doing a Warcry won't automatically change your combat target, There's going to be some tricky finger-work if you are trying to warcry multiple targets, while continuing to do other special moves to your current combat target.

While I doubt we'll get a full 360 degree Warcry, I do hope they widen the cone a bit, as right now its a very small angle, maybe 2-5 degrees at most. Open that up to about 25-45 degrees and we'll have something to work with.
