I don't know if this is feasible given the way that it's unknown how attacks that inflict status effects work.

I am a master brawler with Some TKA skills. I love having master brawler for the lunges and the improved status effects. But with the nerf of warcry 2 (and who can blame them? taking out a krayt solo with no elite professions...geez...) Master brawlers have become rare.

I feel that in addition to reducing HAM costs (by half, wemust be able to use themAND take hits) we also need to be able to make them stick better. Each Brawler tree should have one or two status effects that they use and should get bonuses to.

Unarmed should have +5 to stun every box (perhaps to blind as well)

One handed could give +5 to dizzy every box (I know that they actually getdizzyat the 4rth box)

Two handed could get +5 to berzerk every box (they hit hard)

Polearm could get +5 to intimidate every box (they have huge weapons, maybe KD as well)

Master brawler could give +20 to all of these, for a total of +40 to each. This will let the status effects stick, even if the HAM costs don't get reduced.

Berzerk 2 needs to be changed. Either increase the damage and decrease the time, or make specials work while berzerk.

Warcry 2 needs to be area of effect not a cone. When you are being mobbed by critters, they spread out. The cone will hit one (probably the one you are fighting) and maybe one other. This defeats the purpose.

As a side note, I think it would be cool to be able to dual wield some weapons, like one-handed melee and pistols. Perhaps master brawler could give access to Dual wield for one-handed.

What do you guys think? This is all based off what coding is there now, not for the combat revamp.

That does not inspire confidence. We don't know how attacks inflict status effects? could we ask somebody?

And here I thought I had a good idea. That's what I get for thinking.

Warcry2 and Intimidate2 and Berserk2 are useful tools for a tanker.

Hmm, dual wielding? By no means shoudl this come from anything less than a master elite proffession, not a starting one.

The thing about bralwer, is, it doesn't really need to be worth mastering. It has four trees, with four types of XP. Each of the trees, aside from a little melee defense, doesn't affect the others in any way. Brawler is a starting point for the elite melee proffessions. Why Master it? Marksman has the same issue, expcept there really is no good reason to master that, other than commando and bounty hunter, and Marksman is a lot worse. Master Marksman gives a lot less than Brawler. It's sort of made up for with the ranged support line, which adds specials and defense, but Master Marksman gives the second level of a crappy skill and some measly modifiers. I think the marksman and brawler should be used only as starting points to get to the higher elites. Why should they be worth Mastering?

A better question is, why shouldn't they?

Every skill should have a place, a utility of it's own.

As it is though, Master Brawler is a pretty fantastic skill box. If you're not using intimidate or lunge, you don't know what you're missing. Low Accuracy/Speed classes (Swordsman, Pikeman) benefit from the +10 Accuracy, +5 Speed as well.

I'd have to agree, if for no other reason than the benefit to whichever melee class you are mastering and the intimidation bonuses. I am already planning on mastering brawler on two of my character templates now... onea2handed sword, the other a lancer.

I really enjoy lunge 2 and intimidate 2, but berserk 2 is more of a hinderance than help and warcry 2 does almost nothing for you anymore. I do like having dizzy+KD as an option with just my brawler skills though.

...but Tuesday Weld isn't a complete sentence.
