I've found that I don't need to rely on any groups or even higher level mobs for my exp. I can just run up to any old weak mob lair and start beating on it to gather all of its inhabitants and those surrounding it, then I keep the lair targeted and use my AE attack to drop everyone around me in a hit. I pretty much get all of the experience for killing everything in the time it takes to kill the lair... god i love it!
