I honestly, as a PAYING customer, want to know what the Devs have against the Brawler class. Tell me... what is it? Why do you keep making it harder and harder to play Brawlers? You can't group, because you get no experience. You can't solo, because you take too much damage. What is it? For my $50, I'd like a little customer service. I'd like an answer.

The brawling profession like every other starting profession depends on other skills and professions. you need to do a mix of marksman and brawling to advance faster. And if you add a little Medic to your character your downtime will be less. Add Scout to your character and you could be cruising along as completely solo character.

During Beta I had a character with these skills:
Medic - organics 1
Scout - Novice level
Marksman - Pistols
Brawler - Unarmed

Medic I only went to organics 1 to get the first level med kits then stopped because I didn't need anymore.
Scout I only got Novice level just to get bone, hide, and meat to make the medpaks, I bought the other ingredients needed.
Pistols and Unarmed I was able to master very fast on my own.

I didn't go any further but as you I'm sure you can get rid of some of those skills as you enter the TKA profession.

I hear you Rand., I also have a brawler (EXP 2HS - planning on Master 2H and beyond), I took scouting so I could build camps to heal, but **edit**? the disadvantges are insane, I could be killing (hell I dont know what I could be killing cuz I cant kill Durni solo yet) but If caved in and became a pistol weilder I could be killing stuff Im sure Ive never seen and may never see. I think this class is useless although I wish, truely wish it wasnt. someone explain how in the heck this class works. I guess I could sit outside town and kill corelian butterflies all day til Im a master swordsman at a mind numbing 75 skill per mob, what am I missing??

larger mobs = more exp

larger mobs = hits my ass for 250 per hit

larger mobs = I die before the mob breaks a sweat

as melee class we cant do our skill the way the game is made right now, its impossible.

as a melee character we need lots of healing cuz we are mostly tanking the damage. if u want to lvl up faster get better weapons and some power upgrades. also when in a big group tell a medic to come by u and constanly heal you.

i am a master unarmed with vibroknuckles and i dont have any problem really going solo. i can take many white cons alone just by using berserk (i do about 300-400 dmg per hit) and Occasional yellows (Not many but some) it is also wise to try and ask a medic to join u on some missions. u kill the creatures u get xp. the medic heals you they get xp. it all works out well =)

the only problem i really have is that when going PVP with a brawler. you cant do CRAP when a shooter is just running away from you shooting. they have to stop for u to atleast hit them. making me waste berserk and doing more dmg to myself then they are me. kind of retarded when NPC unarmed can hit you even though u are far from them. DEVS PLEASE FIX THIS. ALSO can you PLEASE make berserk work more often! even though u nerfed it to take more HAM points. kind of retarded when i miss 4 times and im almost half dead...

In my opinion everyone, at least to begin with should be a novice medic and scout. There really is no reason that you shouldn't utilize the extremely beneficial skills of these professions as long as you havethe spare learning points.

You can always surrender the skills later.

Yeah. I've just picked up medic and scout skills as well. I'm going to up these until I'm fairly independent and won't die so easily, solo or otherwise. This is truly the only way we can handle things. I'm thinking that this will increase the rate at which I can earn xp, and when I'm running out of skills later I can always surrender scouting or medic because by then I won't need it as much.

Its good to see theres people out there trying, while we go out and take 7 different skills waste xp and time and money on other skills to gain time and save healing downtime , any old dip can pick up a pistol and kill stuff all day with little to no down time, I think what most people are asking as I was, how do you play your class like a brawler if you have to become a drone and use a pistol, how can we raise our skills be it H2H, 1H, 2H, Polearm, Brawler is in all respects a H2H upfront melee get hit with all the mobs got type of class, yet absolutely no skills to offset that , we have no extra skills inate or earned that makes us be able fight a mob (UNRANGED) than any other class out there.

Brawlers Have to be within range of a mob mauling us to death to play our class and get skill increase with our weapons, yet we get no skills to allow us to do that better than any other class including a Dancer. thats the point ! Theres no trade off, Sony expects everyone to use Laser Pistols or Laser Rifles in this game simple as that, problem is they created the Brawler class. Theres always a way to play the class yes but you have to be ready to spend 10 - 20 times more money for heals/tips weapons are very hard to find because of this whole issue, you HAVE to take more skills to play your class and groups have to compensate for you to gain exp and play your class.

This is not the first time Sony has done this, they have done the same with Warriors in Everquest -

(www).thesteelwarrior.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=15

I came to SWG thinking Sony fixed the mistakes they made with EQ, but alas they made it worse I cant believe they were so blind and stupid to make these mistakes again, but they did and worse Kudos Sony on a job poorly done.

So wheres the pistol merchant, I need a good pistol so I can farm credits and buy me a space ship.Good Luck Brawlers carry the torch for us, Ill be shooting things until this class is repaired and viable to play.

I'man Entertainer/Scout/Brawleron Bloodfin, and I'm doing fine solo. It's just that early on brawlers can't earn enough cash to get any sort of weapons or armor. If you had the weapons or the armor, it gets pretty easy. I'm throwing 300 damage attacks on Imps (when they are prone anyways) outside of Anchorhead while some of the pistoleers/riflemen are only doing 200 max.

The only way I think they can unnerf the Brawler class in anyway is to increase the amount of cash people get from the missions or reduce the difficulty on some of the missions.

And you don't also have to take the path of berserk. That's what lunging is all about, tripping an enemy that's trying to run away. Intimidate also does wonders also if you're not berserking.
