I'm playing a secondary character who's a brawler and wannabe Fencer. I've got certs for several swords, but I seldom seem to see any of them for sale. Low demand, I'm sure... But what I'm wondering most is what I ideally should be looking for? I finally got what appears to be a superbly crafted basic Sword, but all the Gaderiffi Batons and Vibroblades I've seen appear to be junk - with stats often worse than the cruddiest Swords on the Bazaar. And I've never even *seen* a Curved Sword yet.

Assuming you can procure a really good one, what sort do you want? Or does it depend? Are there any 1H swords that are just generally worthless, even when very well made?

Generally I buy as many as I can afford when I see decent ones because my guild master weaponsmith oddly enough hates crafting anything. I have a curved sword, 2 Rhyk Blades, a stun baton, and 2 Gaderiffi Batons. The curved and Rhyk's I have both have a speed of around 2.0 and damage of up to 173. The stun baton is ok doing about 140-150 damage. My gaderiffi baton deals up to 253 damage at a speed of 3.something (sliced)

The most expensive one I bought was the curved sword for 3000 credits. The rest cost me 2500

Ok then my advice to you would be get a good curved sword thats around 70-170 speed 2.2 get it sliced, or alternativly you could get a vibroblade 40-140 2.5 speed approx and hope for damage slice.

Then when uve found your weapon when you get fencer go up footwork first to footwork four maybe get technique one aswell. Then buy urself a nice gaffi stick approx 130-230 speed 3.5 and pray for a damage slice. Then if you get a nice damage slice you should be pumping out 1000-2000 every 1.0 seconds with speacils

Get a Curved Sword or Ryyk Blade.. at Novice Fencer a Stun Baton is okay(Really only for PVP)

At master Fencer a Gaderiffi baton

Hondo (Radiant)

Get vibroblade. A well done VB sliced for damage is nasty.

Curved swords are AP0. VB's are AP1. You get damage bonus with the VB and no penalty when facing AP1 armor creatures.

I used to have a real good curved sword and did around 300 damage max.. got the VB out of curiousity and gawked at doing 350-420 almost constantly.

A good curved sword in the startand great made gaderiffi baton that are both sliced is all you need.
