ie. If I was a Master Fencer and Master Swordsman would I benifit from both skill mods given by each profession?

You would only benefeit from the mods that dont have a certain pre-req, like Unarmed toughness you only benefit from when you have on vk's or no wep, same with 2-hand toughness etc, etc. You can I think stack the KD defense mods from certain branches in the skill trees.
