What conditions cause this message to come up when you try to beserk? I would think that beserk and CoB wouldn't go well together, but I've gotten this while I'm not centered. One thing that may have been the cause is that I was just wailing on a lair after all the occupants were killed. Can you only go beserk against mobs, not lairs?

I mean, sometimes I feel those piles of rocks are just sitting there, smugly mocking me, and they need a good beating.

When you fail the berserk roll, that's the message you see. As far as I know, it's simply a fixed roll with no other factors. The message doesn't mean anything, really. Consider: being berserk means you're in a mindless frenzy. Failing to go into a mindless frenzy would mean you are still(relatively) calm. I use berserk all the time against lairs, as unarmed damage on a lair goes ridiculously slow especially at the lower levels.

I wonder if that is what taunt is for? In fact..I will post that question!
