Brawler Archive

I picked up Brawler as a requirement for Smuggler some time ago. This being a Star Wars game I figured blasters would be the way to go and I was just paying my dues for a hybrid class with unarmed. I have dropped Smuggler compleatly and am strictly Unarmed now, having made Master Teras Kasi afew weeksago. Brawler is the most fun of any class I have tried thus far.

After deciding to get Master Brawler, for Warcry and Intimidate 2, I spoke with our guild weaponsmith and had some weapons made. A very nice curved sword and gafferdi baton got me through One hand.Two hand went very quickly with the smithed axe I recieved. Polearms, however, were terrible.

I was using a Lance and eventually tried a Long Vibro Axe. The lance was fast enough, however, the damage spread on these weapons is a bit crazy, 30 - 200 or so. Ham costs were pretty rough but nothing compared to the Long Vibro Axe which could incap me in three specials! Add to this range modifiers in the negatives (long Vibro Axe starting at -55 ?!?) and it would take a sadist to go Pikeman.

I have heard endless complaints from Pikeman about thier class. If what I saw while mastering Brawler is any indication, every one of those complaints are warranted. Every one.

LVA is a tough pole ta use..try another and its better.

I leveled up through Polearms with a wood staff and a lance...

I finished up polearm 1-4 in 1 1/2 hours Just get a rifleman friend or something to stick two bleeds for a total of like 4000 points per tick . It will go by in a breeze.

I am a Pikeman. I am broken. But I am happy even with it.

Just one advice: If you're going for Master Brawler, FORGET LVA! You'll never hit with it, and even if the god smiles at you and you hit your enemy, you'll be dead with one special. LVA is a weapons for Master Pikeman.

Use Basic Lance. Even Novices use them, because LVA is just terrible. Just stick with Lance and you'll be happy.

I'm a M.B. now too...you Pikemen are nuts! No crap the DEVs need to give you love with the LVA and your def.'s!

Actually, here's what I did as a tka novice with a few boxes wanting to hit more with a long vibro axe. I'd start a fight unarmed and land my stun debuff and re-equip my polearm. Voila, I hit with the polearm almost every time. Still slow with the damage variance and speed of the weapon. But at least I was making progress instead of whiff... whiff... whiff...

Polearm was actually the first line I completed on my road to master brawler as a teras kasi.

I used an LVA when I was doing polearms four. Mainly because I a CH friend who let me stand behind their pet.

For grinding out Brawler levels a good buffing by a doctor is priceless. I was able to use all my polearm speacials using a LVA with out having to worry about dying. And if you go to dantooine and kill pickets you can get 2-3k per kill and the lairs give out 3k exp. In one Lair you can get somewhere from 25-30k exp.

For me it weas fairly easy, I used a lance looted from night sisters. It had good dmg and good speed. Also dealt poison dmg. I was able to use plenty of specials.

I hunted kilknicks with the help of a ch and a combat medic. I did most of ther tanking, did not hide behind pets and was alowed to finish the lairs by myself once empty.

Then again i was already a novice tka which probably helped a lot.
