I have been playing since beta..I quit back in december 2003, at that time i was Master pistoleer, master ch., Master Medic. This week i reactivated my account, missed it to much i guess. I decided i wnated a change so i dropped the medic and ch skill claesses completely, but i kep my master pistoleer. What do u think for about a master pistoleer ( for ranged) master brawler, currently leveled it to 4040 in 3 days, going for master, was wondering what u fellas who have been melee for a while is best for the third ? Pike? swordsman? or TK? was thinking of going tk, but not sure. Any suggestions would be great thanks. And ona side not im glad to be back on swg after 6 months missed u guys Lol.
I redcentlt dropped master medic (all skills) and master Ch (all skills)

i would suggest to skill into fencer..
pistoleer and fencer are the best two defensive professions so you will merely get hit at all with these two professions.. you just dodge away everything
its a pretty strong combo for pve and pvp

Depends on what you want it for. I think all the melee profs are fun to play...it just depends on you want from it.
Some very general things about the profs are this:
Fencer----very fast, awesome defense, very good at pvp, can target body, stun and kinetic damage, struggles against high AR mobs
Swordsman-----very good in PvE, good AP weapons, hits mind, blast and kinetic damage, lower defense
Pikeman-----solid PvE, decent AP weapons, decent PvP with the right gear, hits action, electricity andkinetic damage (energy damage if you're lucky enough to have the NS energy lance), lower defense.
TKA----very fast, good defense, meditation, solid in both PvP and PvE but not great at either, only does kinetic damage.
If you are combining this with pistoleer and don't want to solo high end mobs, then I'd say go with fencer or TKA. With fencer, you'll have incredible defenses, and TKA gives you a perfect stepping stone to picking up the dirty fighting line in smuggler. But if you're into high end PvE, I'd suggest swordsman, or to a lesser degree, pikeman.
If really cool animations is something that you'd like, then I'd pick up fencer or pikeman. Both of these profs have the coolest animations IMO.
Hope that helps

Very Excellent breakdown forme storm, just finished mastering brawler, so now i have that with the master pistoleer. I really doonot have a style of fight, not scared to go jump in the middle of an all out brawl..., no matterwhat it is lol, moneys only money and death is only death. I just like being able to kick a$$ anf a whole lot of it at that. Any more opinions will not be frowned upon, so my queston is , wich is better? tka or fencer? what do u like better?

I personally enjoyed fencer more than TKA (though I made sure to have meditation from TKA
). The defenses and animations were much nicer I thought. TKA does hit a lot harder than fencer, but I hated only having one damage type. Of course this is somewhat remedied by the fact that you have pistoleer. If you just want to be able to jump in and absolutely cream anything and everything in PvE, then swordsman is definitely the way to go. I am master fencer/master swordsman/master brawler, I use fencer for PvP, and swordsman for PvE (and a bit for PvP).
Ultimately you can't really say which prof is better, since better is very subjective. I'd say try one, and if you don't like it or are interested in another, then try another. Or do what I am doing, try all of them and see which you like best, then re-master that one. Honestly, the melee profs are so easy to master, it can be done in days if you want to.
