Thread: Brawler is not as bad as you say
I decided last week that TK seemed like a pretty cool profession. I have already mastered marksman and wanted to expand so to speak. I took on some low income missions and began to attack worthless creatures and their lairs. I play only two to three hours a night and I am surprised to say that I am now working on my fourth tier of unarmed. I dont use Vibroknuckles because I feel it detracts from the authenticity (dont really care how any one else plays).
The xp is coming just as i would have expected it to work. I can now take on white cons fairly easy but only one at a time. Yellows are a gamble but sometimes I'll roll the dice and see how I do.
Keep in mind I NEVER use Vibroknucklers. Unarmed has performed much how I would imagine it would. It sucks to start off and you woulld never take on an expert marksman with minimal martial artist training; are you guys out of your minds? However when I approach and get deep in the TK ranks I would supppose that I would be fairly deadly to anyone I catch offguard. Once again, why would you engage an expert marksman who has a good distance on you and has a gun leveled at your head?
Moral of the story stop complaining, there may be some drastic penalties for using specials but such id life. TK or any of the brawler classes should be an elite profession held only to players who wish to pay the time before reaping the awesome benefits of being an elite TK master.
Flame on.

Also, there are no posts in this forum saying that a novice brawler should be able to take on an expert marksman. I assume that was just some exaggeration for effect.
If you read the top 5 issues thread, or the other "brawler isn't so bad" threads, you'll see a breakdown of the problems.
Again, nobody is saying that the brawler is an unplayable class. But it does have some serious issues, from purely mechanical (out of range bug), to balance related (pistol whip vs TKA lunges, HAM costs 300% higher than all other classes, etc).
We will continue to try to get these issues addressed, because we feel that they need to be changed. If you don't feel that the brawler needs any balancing, then we'll respect that opinion.
We, however, ask the same of you.
