maybe im just stupid, but how do i get this exp? we have no 2 hand sword certifications at novice brawler... should i just pick up some random 2 hand weapon and use it?

You have to find or buy a two handed weapon, like a heavy axe. They're usually pretty cheap to buy, around 200 credits or so.

I was wondering the same thing... with only Dagger Certification, what 2H weapons can be used?

The heavy axe is the two-handed weapon which can be used by anyone with no certifications. You usually can find a loot heavy axe (98 max damage) for sale in the bazaar. Player made heavy axes are sometimes for sale there too.
