Ok, so I'm trying to sneak up on my harvester where some spineflap guards are hanging out. I hit Mask scnet while laying on the ground a good distance off (outside of aggro range at least, so at least 60+ meters)

Btu the stupid shift key sticking problem (are they EVER going to fix that??) causes me to hit TAUNT instead. I think, hey no big, I didn't hit them, so they'll ignore it and I'll hit peace. Oh wait, peace isn't working. So I end up with two guards chasing me all over because I accidentally taunted then from like 70 meters away. Seems pretty stupid that that would happen.

It isn't just taunt. right now anytime you go into attack mode against something from a distance it's friends will come after you no matter whether you actually attacked or not. I believe they are fixing that in the big update.

I recently learned the usefullness of taunt. Don't underestimate it... I use it in those situations when a group of large creatures attackes my party, I use taunt and get all of the creatures to aggro on me instead.

I've not experimented much, but does this work as an AOE taunt? That would be interesting, except for the fact that we have very weak defensive bonuses over other classes.

If we can taunt, why can we not tank?
