Thread: how many people think they wasted their time?
So, to summarize, no, I don't think they wasted my time. If anything, I wasted my own time with all the marksman skills.
I have fun with my sword, the AE attacks are nice.
However, the defense sucks, I still get hit all the time, Intimidation gets resisted more often than not (had something resist 10 times in a row yesturday), same for Warcry, I don't do that much better than a pistoleer as a tanking class. I don't understand why pistols don't take high damage from melee attacks like carbines and rifles do. Making marksmen take extra damage if hit by melee is a great way to keep brawlers useful but they broke it when they let one of the marksman classes be largely uneffected.
The real problem with brawlers is that pistoleers end up stepping into our bailiwick (good word, that) and they have all the advantages of a ranged class on top of that. The only reason I stick with Swordsman is the distant hope that SOE will make it so that the best brawling classes are brawlers, not pistoleers.
Dear devs: please restore the tanking prowess of the Brawlers by making pistol wielders take more damage when hit by melee. IMO, that would be a simple 2 second change to their code and it would help out a whole lot. I don't feel the tanking competition from carbines and rifles because everyone knows they get chewed up, but everyone also knows that pistols are just fine for melee. They shouldn't be.
