Ranged Support under marksman has some generic sounding defense. Do they help your defense even when using a Brawling weapon?

Yes it will help you. However, all of the defense except for Advanced Weapon Support is only againt ranged damage. The only beef for melee damage is Advanced Weapon Support, and you have to decide on whether that +2 melee defense is really worth 20 skill points to get. Personally, I'd like to see a Melee Weapon Support skill line in the brawler tree, but that won't happen.

I often use warningshot to scare off any unwanted aggro, very useful in my opinion.
