I just purchased a Ubese Armor Helm and I am getting a message "You are not healthy enough to wear this armor!" Now currently I am as healthy as I can be, I have no wounds, and no Battle fatigue. My stats are as follows:

H - 1250

S - 604

C - 598

A - 699

Q - 326

S - 226

M - 501

F- 42

W - 142

The stats on this Ubese Armor Helm are as follows:

Kinetic 17.0%

Energy 14.0%

Blast 14.0%

Restraint 14.0%

Acid 14.0%

Electricity 14.0%

Encumbrance:

Health 19

Action 23

Mind 226

WHY can't I equip this armor?

Never used armour but from what I heard the armour encumberance effects the secondary stats for each section not the primary stats. So the strength, stamina, quickness, constitution, focus and willpower have to be high enough to support the armour not the health, action and mind.

Seen a few when hit with the stat bug (where the seconderies stats drop and dont recover) where they cannot wear their armour till these stats come back to normal.

Your focus is only 42 and your willpower is only 142. The helmet subtracts 226 from one of those pools. Since you don't have 226 in any pool, not even totaled, you can't wear the helmet.

If you get the helmet sliced and the encumbrance drops below 42, you'll be all set to wear it.

I have sliced Ubese armor, and no encumbrance on them is higher then 40. So I can wear a full set and have plenty of stats left over.

Find a good slicer, pray his slice works.

Good lord...now people are just being a$$holes. Grow the F U C K up already. It's a GAME! (I'm using bad language so you kiddies might understand )

What spaz said is true. If you have your character (Ctrl-C) screen up while you equip the pieces of armor, you'll see all of your substats go down with each item.

But, if I remember correctly, the slicing WILL let you wear it, but at a cost. Your armor's condition will either get dropped or will deteriate faster...cant remember witch. But either way your armors life span could be cut in as much as half (cross your fingers and hope not).

"So I swoop upon the foe, and I will slay,
I will hew them into pieces, I will dash them into dust;
Like Baal in his strength, on their rearward, lo! I fell,
And I killed them, none escaped me, and I slew, and slew, and slew."

As far as I know, slicing has no effect on how fast a weapon deteriorates but it it does mean that you can no longer repair the item in question.

Hi there, slicing may or may not help you with the armour. It has 1 of 2 effects, either lowers the HAM costs or improves resists. The HAM costs do go against the secondary stats and not the primary ones, so you will need to either migrate stats to change or use foods/spice/special nifty dr created boosts which kick butt. According to the DEV's, from reading the armoursmith forum, char's are not expected to be able to use the higher end armour w/o using these unless their primary stats are 'low' so to speak.

From what i hear the Dr. created buffs are your best bet as they can increase attributes by 250% for upto 2.5 hours. Well worth tipping your novice medic now to be remembered well later.

I had the helmet sliced and the resistances were raised by 1% (now at 14%) and I was able to equip it without migrating any stats. However, I did go ahead and migrate stats around to improve my Action & Mind pools but that occured long after the slicing was performed. Perhaps I was on the cusp of being able to wear the piece. Now I'm looking to possibly go up to Composite Armor after my friend showed me her armor with 41% resistances (sliced). From what I can tell higher Kinetic resistance is what I should be looking for when shopping around for armor types. (???) I have been forced to take up marksman skills though I shoot the beast, bring them in and then beat the crap out of them with my hands and/or a melee type weapon. God I love being a brawler. Oh yeah, on a side note ... though I am only an Expert Unarmed Specialist currently I equipped my VK's (received the mesage about being unskilled) however I am still hitting at 3.5 speed and I am seeing better damage.
