I know the question of 'what's the point of master brawler?' has been asked many times and discussed frequently. Some people are willing to make master brawler simply for the extra abilities like Beserk 2, I feel there should be more point than this to making master. Every other base skill tree leads to some other elite profession after master, so why not brawler?
I think the addition of a Gladiator profession with master brawler as its pre-requisite would be interesting. This would be suitable as a gladiator tends to be a trained in a variety of melee weapons, just like the master brawler.
I haven't completely thought this through but I thought I'd just throw the idea out there.
I can imagine something like special gladiator missions where you have to face off with another NPC in the local arena ( if there were any ) and defeat him/her to earn some cash. A gladiator fight could provide entertainment for players in some way akin to the current entertainer profession. Players could place bets on their favourite gladiator. Of course gladiators would still be hardy opponents in the field but their Gladiator skill tree would provide more benefits for going toe-to-toe with another melee fighter/gladiator.
I'm pretty sure it's not too late to introduce a new profession, as far as I know (I'm definitely not certain) the politician profession is still in the works to be introduced at a later time.

umm they do lead to elite profesions, fencer, ect. you get just as much benifit for being master brawler as you do master marksmen, you need no more bonuses

Just a point of clarification, Entertainers, Brawlers, and Artisans do not have Elite professions after Master.

Ok, maybe elite profession wasn't the right term.
You know how master scout leads to ranger? Master medic leads to doctor? Or combat medic? Master marksman is part of bounty hunter etc etc. What I'm saying is obtaining the 'master brawler' box on the skill tree should lead to another profession, eg. Gladiator. I stand corrected in that master entertainer does not lead to another profession, however there is at least some variety to the entertainer tree, brawler is all the same - close combat.
I just want to know what people think.I don't want everyone getting hung up on how I word things, I would have thought people would have understood what I was getting at despite usingly seemingly incorrect terminology.

I stand corrected in that master entertainer and artisan do not lead to another profession, however there is at least some variety to those trees. For example entertainers have dancing, music image design. Artisans have tailoring, cooking, business access, engineering. They are different skills that do different things. However with brawler if you completed each branch and made master, you would essentially be able to do only one thing - fight in melee. I understand getting master marksman is a similar affair, its all ranged, but the difference is it actually a pre-requisite for another profession (Bounty Hunter).
I just want to know what people think of the gladiator idea. I don't want everyone getting hung up on how I word things, or whether everything I've said about the trees is 100% correct. The point of my post was to throw the idea of the gladiator profession to everyone.
I just thought people might find it interesting, and maybe introduce more of a reason for players to go master brawler.

Actually according to the guide that accompanies the game, you must master both marksman and brawler trees to become a bounty hunter. There is a reason it is called a hybrid profession. Thus, there is a point to becoming a master brawler. You must also master both trees to become a commando as well. Although, I do like your idea about the gladiator. It adds a little more depth to the game, and it would also create a much cooler profession for the brawler that wouldn't be as hard to obtain say like a commando or bounty hunter. Cause face mastering both of those trees is gonna take some serious time.

Actually, it's Master Marksman, Master Scout for Bounty Hunter, not Brawler. And BH is the only profession that requires (I believe) 2 fully mastered starting professions. Most are single profession Mastery (Ranger, Doctor, etc), single tree mastry (TKA, Fencer, Rifleman, etc) or multiple tree Masteries (for hybrids like Smuggler, Squad Leader,Creature Handler, etc).

HI I am the leader of the Gladiator PA on eclipse, i think you are right a gladiator profession would be nice. the thing you have to see is that all it could do is give a new title and a few new moves maybe a cert for a new weapon but thats about it. if they add bonuses then you run the risk of drawing to many toward melee ... which the devs do not want
sadly i think a gladiator profession is but a dream.
