Thread: Dizzy attacks and lunges against nonhumanoids

Excuse me if this has already been addressed--I haven't seen anything about it on the forums, though.

Having fiddled around for a bit, I can tell that lunge attacks do work on nonhumanoids (at least land-bound ones), even though their animations don't do much to reflect stance changes. I'm wondering if the same is true for dizzy attacks, which I haven't yet been able to experiment with at length. Can one knock down, say, a durni? What about a flying monster?

Isn't there a little picture in the target bar that shows their current stance? I'm pretty sure that shows their status. So if they're already prone, you can't knock them down.

I've tried this over and over. If it worked, it should work for all nonhumanoids, alas it doesnt because the desert giant kimogila would have been knocked over and beaten to death.

Knockdown does the trick for nonhumanoids, so does underhand hit. Lunge and dizzy doesn't, and only works for humanoids but will last longer and be more effective if done right.

Yes, you CAN position change a nonhumanoid and actually get a bit more damage out of that but the dizzy has no effect.
