Ok...am I doing something wrong or is this just how messed up our class is? I am an apprientice swordsman with a ryyk blade. But whenver I get a group together and we go hunting I am usually the only brawler so I am always up close when attacking while everyone else shoost from afar. And I am always the first one to go down when attacking a big mob, ok I can see this as fair from the class perspective but when I go down and my friend who is useing ranged weapons goes down and I am slain and he is not, there in lies the problem. How is a brawler supposed to fight a mob when in a group? Run in and hit hit a couple times then run away? What is the deal, Im getting sick of dying while everyone else is just incapacitated. And on top of everything else if I don't run in there and start attacking the mob when we eventually kill it i will probly get like 50 exp instead of 600 because I was to catious and didn't do enough damage. Whats the deal?

I'm always in the middle of the fight. My friend and I usually run around killing stuff. He's going for Master Marksman and I'm a Teras Kasi Student. I'm always doing more damage than he is and half the time the stuff will go after HIM even though he's further away. After I'm done laughing as he runs away, I'll Taunt and finish the mob off. Yes, it does suck that you take the most damage, but that's what you get for getting in the face of a big, bad mob.

To me it's a trade off. We took down a couple of Banthas the other night. I got the majority of the exp because I did more damage. On a side note, learn traps and use the wire mesh ones. They lower melee defense for the creatures.

Make sure you have a Doc or two targeting you then you can stand up face to face and get your XP while the marksmen give you fire support.

The only problem is that they had no problem keeping my Health and Action maxed out, but not my mind pool which got me in the end.

The key is to see how had your are being hit in one shot then knowing when to stop fighting and pull back.

Like it said in another thread...we are getting killed with the mind damage...I'm not that experienced with the brawler yet but I know that this is becoming a problem for myself as well...the only thing I can sugget to do is suffer a little penalty and get a decent helmet and adjust your HAM to compensate especially if you have the medics backing you up

A medic is a brawlers best friend. I just got Master Brawler on Bria. I out damage almost anyone Ive seen...I also take more damage then everyone in a group. My advice is to definitely even out your bars as much as possible...I think I have around 1100/1100/850 (I'm a Wookie). This works pretty well but occasionally some mobs do tend to target mind but what can you do. My second piece of advice is to use Intimidate. Intimidate pretty much halves the damage you take. Also use any type of posture changing attack you have every once in a while. I usually try to lead with these. At master brawler you get the good ones but i think polearm has an early one that just changes posture. On npcs I hit for between 1200 and 1600 if they are laying down.
