Thread: Exact details of what the different states do

Correspondant please post here exactly what the different state effects due, per info from the devs.
It seems that intimidate about halfs the damage output of your foe, and decreases their dodge abilities (also counterattack/block?, maybe an exact % of the reduction, anything else it does?)
The states are:
Blind
Stunned
Intimidated
Exact descriptions of what each do would be nifty.
Also there is the posture effects.
Dizzy
Posture change (down)
Knockdown
First, the Devs won't give us numbers as to how the states work, I've asked, other Corres have asked, they told us flat out "No". I wouldn't expect hard info any time soon. To break it down:
Intimidate: Havles the damage of the afflicted person. Some people have experienced a lower occurance of Secondary Defenses firing (Dodge, Counterattack, Block) but proof isn't readily available.
Blind: Decreases the afflicted persons accuracy. Don't know how much, but it's significant enough to make a difference in PvP, especially if you have high defenses.
Stun: Lowers Melee / Ranged defense, some reports of it also lowering Def vs State as well, like intimidate, accurate info isn't really available.
Dizzy: Target can fall down (obviously). Also, the afflicted person cannot burst run, and may (like stun/intim) also have a minor accuracy decrease component. Why does it last on some targets longer than others? Duration of a state (all states) is affected by how high your Def vs State is, and also the "potency" of the attack that inflicted it. For instance, FullAutoSingle has a low occurance of Blind, Stun, and Dizzy, but they usually wear off fast, and stick infrequently, this is a low potency. UnarmedKnockdown2 typically knocks down, and frequently applies the Dizzy state, this has a higher potency. Trial and error are the only way to determine this.
Knockdown and Posture Down: There's also a Posture Up (Rifleman), not that anyone uses it. These have the same Potency / Resist setups as the other states, although they're not "status effects" strictly speaking.

IN pvp especially it seems that dizzy lasts much longer on certain people and hardly at all (vanishes in seconds on others) why is that? Is there a forumla? Same thing for posture changed and kd, some peopel get right back up rather than having a delay. My understanding was the defense was either the defense worked and you don't get the state applied or it failed and it happened as if you had no defense, but it almost looks like there is a duration mod in there too?
There are also:
on fire
diseased
bleeding
poisoned
but i think we know what those do

I can't convey how much I'd like to know these things, along with what stacks. I really, really don't understand why they keep the information secret. Can anyone give me a good reason as to deny us this info so I won't be so mad about it? What is the big f'in secret?? I used dizzy on creatures for a long time because it sounded so useful, and then I found out it does nothing unless I use posture change. This would have been very nice to know so I wouldn't have been trying ten different times to stick dizzy on something for NOTHING ffs!
Defense vs State stacks, although there's always a 10% chance (minimum) to apply the state. If someone has a higher potency attack this allows you to minimize the chance of it sticking by having more than 90 Defense vs State. Melee / ranged defense, as well as Counterattack, Dodge, and Block all cap at 125.
I'm TKM/Master Brawler/Master Rifleman.
I went Brawler for Warcry2 and Intimidate2.
How valuable have you found these two to be?
Just curious but did the Devs at least give a reason why they choose not to release this information when asked by players and correspondents? Any guesses to why such information is always kept hidden?

I thought i had stated in the previous post, however, the reason was because they feel that "Discovering" on our own is part of the "fun" of the game.
