With all the incumbant votes (infrequently active players), the mayor can't be removed from office. She's willing to step down, but how do we do that?

At this present point in time, the only way for a mayot to stop being a mayor is to be voted out. There is it seems no other way (aside from destroying the city itself and starting again).
She can drop all of politican if she likes (even novice), can move to another city, and as I understand it, can even go and become the mayor of another city........but she will remain your mayor until she is voted out of office by the residents.

I was kind of hoping that the notes for Patch 7 would include the magical words "Mayoral resignation added" but it appears not be going to happen.

For various reasons, I am resigning from the position of Correspondant, and also, for the most part, from the game. I have suggested a few among you as suitable replacements, and wish you all well.
Publish 8 Has gone live, and the next Correspondant will have 9 to work with from scratch. Good Luck to you all.

Well you have faced the Warcry nerf and it should have been difficult for you. Anyways you did a great job
