If I'm not mistaken, you only need Master Unarmed and a certain # of Combat XP to get the "Novice TKA" title. Kinda like how smuggler take master unarmed & master pistol and a certain amount of combat XP to gain the "Novice Smuggler" title. Even if you don't have all the combat XP you need for novice, you still get the title "TKA Student" when you get Master Unarmed.

Actually you only need to get to unarmed master in the brawl tree to open up TKA.

Niether TKA nore Smuggler take Combat Xp =]

Do I have to get to master brawler first before i can go to an elit profession, like TKA?

Yes, you need to hit Master Brawler, then accumulate another 125k Unarmed points to reach TKA.
