Hi,
I wanted to give out some information on some of the changes that have happened on Test Center recenly.

The first bit of data involves some tables I created containing the new skill trees for the elite brawler professions. This includes only the skill modifiers in these trees. It also includes some data about how large the changes have been to each profession and the combined skill modifiers that each elite brawler profession now gets.

Of course this is only partially relevant to this forum, as it is about the elite professions and not brawler itself, but then a lot of you are also playing elite brawler professions or will be considering elite professions to move on to.

That data is HERE

Oh, and I have not yet filled out the pikemen data on that page. I'm sorry for that pikemen. You're not forgotten, I just only didn't have as much time to finish that as I would have liked.

Secondly, of course, brawlers and elite brawler professions have received a special ability called Center of Being (CoB). CoB is a tempory "buff" of sorts that increases one's chance to dodge, block or counter attack. It's duration increases at higher skill levels as does its effectiveness. It only works when you are wielding a melee weapon. There are different skill mods related to each melee branch.

It has an associated HAM cost which is significant. For my character, a human with 500 in all secondary HAM's, the cost is 207 total HAM, approximately 100 mind, 65 action and 35 health. While wearing composite armor (so at near to zero secondary HAM values), the total cost rises up to around 270.

I have not run any tests on its effectiveness yet, although my impression is that it might not be that useful while one is still in the brawler tree.c

Since this did not make it to my tables, I will add that at novice brawler you start with a 5 second duration CoB and a 10 effectiveness modifier. With every box beyond that you gain +2 seconds and +10 effectiveness, specific to given weapon type (i.e. 1h boxes give you an increase to 1h CoB duration). Master gives another +5 seconds to all weapon types except unarmed, and another +10 effectiveness to all weapon types including unarmed.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

what are your thoughts for us pikemen. increased range is deffinatly needed. accuracey and defense are also lacking. maybe an increased chance to hit action bar since all of our specials are targeted to it. maybe our regular attacks should tend to levitate to it. just a thought.

I don't think I will get to the pikemen data for a bit, unfortunately.

From memory, pikemen have received a bonus to accuracy (something on the order of +30 or +40), a big boost to block, Center of Being skill mods and I think a slight boost to one of their status defenses.

That should be, "from memory, I THINK". Don't quote on any of this, as I haven't looked at the pikemen tree lately. For better details you could always login to TC and check it out.

Gabe,

Awesome info thanks for providing it. Do you know if these skills will also be stacking from one combat tree to the next? For instance, will TKM and M_Fencer stack (aside from class specific modifiers i.e. toughness)?

Hopefully not until the patch, mounts, cities, etc. are all more stable. That will take a while in my opinion.
