Thread: Good Tip for unarmed 1-4 XP
I need to get unarmed 4 for commando (curse theholocron for making me do that) So, I heard that using VK's even when you arn't certed for it helps a lot when trying to get unarmed xp.
Well, after trying it out on a bunch of diffrent mobs, I didn't see that happening. The ham costs with specials weretough to manage even as master medic, and fighting without VK's not only took me forever, but didn't give me a lot of xp.
So I got my VK's sliced down to 1.8 speed tonight and tried everything out again on pickets with the group I was in. Same result....around 150xpper kill. Then I used beserk with the VK's and my xp jumped up to 750.
So, if you need unarmed 1-4 xp, a good trick is to equip a fast pair of VK's and use beserk for better xp and faster kills.
If you have a ranged weapon (I'm assuming you are at least level 4 in a marksman skillat this point), bleed the mob. Health is best, but any help. If you have two bleed shots on the same pool (for example, /bodyshot1 and /bodyshot2), use them both.
Disarm. Wait. You don't really need to go to the mob as when the first bleed kicks in, they will come to you.
If it's something that hit hard, use intimidate or stun or your debuff of choice.
Switch to vibroknuckles. They will do slightly less damage, but be twice as fast. Go beserk. This will double your damage. Swing away till it dies. Heal yourself if you need to. Re-beserk as required.
Without using specials, the vibroknuckles have a much higher dps than fists. By using beserk, you will do similar damage as if you were using the simple specials without using any excess HAM. The debuffs (intimidate, stun, blind) will help keep you alive. The bleeds will speed up mob death without leeching any exp. That's the key - with a good pistol and novice pistoleer, much of the damage will be done from the bleeds, but you get full unarmed exp.
Armor actually makes a lot of sense using this strategy as you won't be using many specials so killing your secondaries is not a huge deal. From your description, it sounds like you aren't using /berserk, which makes a huge difference.

My berserk almost triples my damage.
