Thread: Strengths and Weaknesses

I am new to the brawler scene, and I am not looking for the "uberest" class but I would like to know what the strengths and weaknesses for each of the brawler branches are. I *think* swordsmen do more damage but fencers have higher defense, but from there I am clueless...


Please help ^_^

Unarmed equals speed, little damage, staus effect attacks


1 handed equals little less speed than unarmed, more damage, body shots


polearm equals slow, good damage, leg shots


2 handed equals very slow, lots of damage and head shots.


Don't worry, as a brawler you will never be uber. Patch days are either going to ignore brawlers or nerf us so some kind of fix is needed to fix us. Plus, brawlers are not meant to be the tanks of SWG and the devs are going to be in touch with us about their vision of our profession in the "future." Devs feel this profession is over-powered and so we are probably more hated by them than the droid engineers. DEs are certainly worse off than brawlers.

Unarmed : very weak at the start, but Master Teras Kasi are probably the most powerful of the 4 classes in the end. Fast, damaging, versatile : with the largest variety of "status" effects (blinds, stuns, dizzys, knockdowns ...), can target any pool (health, action and mind) at higher levels (but they get targeted pools attacks much later than the other melee classes, which is a drawback at lower levels), excellent defense, and the unique meditation skill that allows various things (like healing your own wounds or getting up from incap). Main weakness : has no bleed (damage overtime attack) special attack (but they were nerfed last patch anyway), only deals kinetic damage


Swordsman : great damaging weapons with armor piercing and nice damage, and the ability to target the unhealable mind pool with fast and heavy damage. Main drawback is the lack of "special" attacks (ie : no less that 5 swordsmen special attacks are nerfed posture down attacks, no blind, no stun ...), and high HAM costs.


Fencer : excellent defense, the best defensive melee class (at least until they fix TKA CoB)


Pikeman : the least popular melee class, because most of their weapons are too costly (HAM costs) and with horrible accuracy.However, they do have access to varied knockback attacks, notably an area KD.
