Any ideas? I am currently a Trando and looking for some armor that protects against melee attacks. I put some bone armor on and didn't notice anything but my stats lower. Any help would be appreciated. Also - can Trandos wear gloves?

I'd recommend staying away from armor until the devs address either the fact that unarmed HAM costs for special moves are way too high. Nerfing your stats with armor is only going to make those costs go up, and unarmed is heavily reliant on its special moves. Bone armor also seems to be more effective against blaster fire in my experience, but you'll get the most bang for your buck out of a chest piece (or at least it's seemed that way from my experience).

As for Trandos, I don't believe that they can wear gloves or boots, but I've never played one, so I can't be sure.

They can't. Three fingers and huge feet.

Bone = Blaster 50%

Mabari = Melee 50%

Chitin = Blaster 33% /Melee 33%

Trando = No Boots/Gloves

Wookies = No Armor at all.

I wore mabari and chitin for a long while in beta, but eventually took it off - the amount of damage it was mitigating was not higher than the damage I was inflicting on myself for wearing it.*

However, get a personal shield generator (goes in the belt slot) as soon as you see one. It absorbs damage, but does not drain HAM. And you still get to wear your clothes have your own "look". =)

Or at least until the tailors come up with some armor that doesn't hurt as much.

*This was especially true when I wearing the armor and using a vibro knuckler, since the knuckler also hits your HAM. My advice: just use the knuckler, take less self-inflicted damage on yourself and do more damage on the mob.
