Thread: Berserk1 nerf and why I think it was not done properly.
The reason the berserk "nerf" came into effectimo was this: I was a 2h weapon user of the advanced skill box (2 boxes in) and I was fighting using a very buff heavy axe (the newbie weapon but player crafted I think it was 41-151 damage 5delay). I was hitting with berserk for about 200-850 damage against monsters. Against an npc humanoid with a rifle laying on the ground i topped out with a 1400 damage hit. I think this needed to be tweaked somewhat as that is a bit much damage given my skill and my weapon. I think the method of the nerf was done very wrong. It seems berserk does some sort of straight multiplier to the damage you would have done which means the more raw damage the more the effect of berserk (see example).
example: if you would have hit for 200 normally with berserk1 (pre nerf) you would have hit for 800 say so that's a bonus of 600 damage. ifyou would have normally hit for 70 damage with berserk1 (pre nerf) you would have hit for 170 or 200 for a bonus of 100-130 damage. (yes I have all 4 brawler skills to the 2nd box so i have tested berserk at various damage ranges).
I think what should have been changed about berserk is to somehow bring into line the higher end damage multiplierNOT what they did which seems to have been just lowered the overall multiplier so that the people who were relying on that extra 100-130 damage are now in very dire straights.
I hope that sony takes steps to fix this in a more balanced fashion.
PS sorry if my english isn't so good i'm very tired heh (i just hope everyone can understand and hopefully drum up some support to rebalance berserk to be more benificial to all and yet not overpowering to some).
