Please, no ninjas in Star Wars. That's not what was meant by *Star* Wars, thank you.

However, I don't see why brawlers shouldn't be especially adept at thrown items like Grenades. Again, no shuriken, please...but what about Darts? With all the fighting near cloning centers, I'm surprised we are seeing more Kaminoan Sabre Darts...

I don't get it.. you start a melee character knowing the range limitation, so why do you expect to get a ranged attack now? Sounds like you should have picked a marksman class instead.

Where did I state that I started a melee character? Thats your assumption.

I just figured if anyone in the game should be good at throwing bladed weapons it would be the brawler class. And who says there aren't high tech space ninjas?

throwing stars!

I know, I know...combat would devolve into star vs gun battles 90% of the time, but I honestly don't see how they can compensate for range.

Besides, they need to make master brawler worth something (No profession requires it atm). Andwhat goes hand in hand with throwing stars ?

You guessed it!

doesn't have to be a ninja star could be a disc or something. and to all the be realistic fist vs guns people i say these two things:

it a sci fi/fantasy movie based game it isn't mean to be realistic

if it was realistic pistols would ge last as gun choice for fighting creatures, i men really if you shot a lion in a good sized pride with a pistol at regular pistol range and was lucky enough to kill it first shot but the social members of that pride decided to attack you would be dead quick.

I am an umarmed brawler. I don't believe that we shouldhave any special ranged wepons. If you have a weapon then maybe allow you to throw it. Then pick it up on the way to the target. If unarmed, as I am, maybe throw a rock picked up from the ground. I signed up knowing that I wouldn't have any distance attack. I don't think this should be a serious consideration for that reason. There are other problems that I believe need to be addressed. One of the biggest ones in my mind is the distance to target dicrepency. Contrary to others beliefs I don't think that giving our attacks ever increased range is the long term answer. However, I am very greatful for this short term work around.

i wouldnt per say ranged weapons, mind you the throwing of the weapon is a good idea, but not for those that dont have any unarmed skills, because it would be kind of hard to fight somebody without your weapon. personally i suggest is a definate posture down attack, lung works for hitting them, but i find it never works to posture down the victim. for example i chase down a specialist noncom while running mission for the rebels, and i hit him with a 2hand lunge attack, and the message i get, is your attack failed to chang your target's posture. and that happens all the time, i am working towards master brawler in order to get lunge 2, and see if it works better. as it is i am almost finished the techniques tree in swordsman. i can kill alot of things that have 2k ham with 2hand mind hit 2, or 2hand hit 2, but the thing is getting the chance to hit them if they run.

i forgot to mention this...

it may be an idea to allow the melee classes to run a slight bit faster than other classes, with the exception of scout they could still run faster than the melee. that way if a ranged npc or player tries to kite us, they wouldnt be. i'm not saying run as fast as a scout, but a happy medium between regular speed, the scout running speed. the reason being is that a melee based class would have their body toned for it in order to chase down their chosen target.

Well Soulburner69, I'm a Master Brawler, Master Creature Handler and almost a Master Pikeman. Now the pre-requirements for CH is that i need to branches from Scout , which by the way is Exploration and Hunting, so your observation about a melee character not being able to move as fast as a scout is flawless.
