Thread: 2h newbie weapon?

I started a new character just before the CU and I was headed up the polearm tree to be a pikeman. The CU requiring me to also learn 2h has caused a problem though. I don't have a weapon to use to level it. I have checked around and noone is selling any low level cert 2h weapons ( I believe heavy axe is all that I can use.) I checked to see if I could make one since I do have artisan engineering skills but I dont get a schematic for a heavy axe until Engineering 4????
Anyone care to explain why a stone age weapon requires hours upon hours of experience building ...ahem...fireworks and firearms....
it's an axe....granted it does require a metal blade so I suppose that adds a little bit of smithing knowledge to forge a nice iron or bronze blade...oh and a stick dont forget the stick!
as opposed to those simplistic firearms that require , in the case of starwars,a means of firing an ...energy beam?

sorry just trying to weigh it all out here...
Anyway, if anyone can come up with another way for me to skillup 2h I'd most appreciate it!

I suppose the best way to get a newbie weapon is to get a newbie to give you one. See if you know anybody who doesn't have Novice Brawler and has free skill points to pick it up, also ... that green droid just MIGHT give them one. More, certifications are tied to CL now, so if you have other skills, you can probably buy and use a different 2h weapon...
